Wayne Conspiracy (MAJOR SPOILERS)
MAJOR SPOILERS
LIKE EVERYTHING IN THE GAME

Wayne. Wayne. Wayne.

I don't know why but he's always on my mind with this game. He's one of the creatures that you meet. He says you don't have to be afraid of him, but his motivations are suspicious.

I have been playing this game WAY too much. I have over a hundred achievements. I can't stop playing. I want them all.

ANYWAY,

Wayne.
Over the dozens of play throughs I've played (thanks devs for making it so expansive), here is what I've learned about Wayne:

-Wayne is dead. Or at least his body is.
-Wayne is gross. And rotting. And smells bad. I'm guessing fire. His body is "intact", but it is puss-ey (PUSS), scorched, and firm.
-Wayne is not Wayne. He is something else. In Chapter 3, without Tabby, I talked to him every way through. One of the questions I chose was along the lines of "are you Sam Wayne?" and he said, "this body is Sam Wayne".
-Wayne is obsessed with the MC. He follows her everywhere. He is in the garden (i believe in chapter 2), he shows up EVERYWHERE, every chapter. He admits he has an unbreakable bond with MC, and every other character concludes he is OBSESSED with you. He wants you to stay at the mansion until Pearlanne's funeral.

Conclusions I have about Wayne:
-He was murdered - one of the Scarlet's secrets, Pearlanne probably didn't approve. He "left" town. Sure. Pearlanne.
-He is possessed. It's not actually Wayne. Someone is possessing him. MC asks like four times in all the chapters if there are cults around. Idk if this is related.
-Wayne has alternative motives. He is overly protective (see: chapter 3 with the haunting, and chapter 4 with Reese). This is what made me realize though... Chapter 3, if you don't bring Tabby, you talk to him, etc., and you still choose to sacrifice years of your life, he GETS MAD. Like infuriated. Beyond what a **loving** sidekick should be.

This is the ultimate conclusion I have:
Wayne wants you for himself, so he can either possess you, or get his significant other to possess you. Sybil warns you about him, Tabby warns you about him. All signs point to him not being trustworthy and trying to manipulate you.
He says at one part of my playthrough if you flirt with him (chapter 4 I think): paraphrased, I have bad memory: "we can be together in ways you wouldn't know". Please tell me the actual wording. It's creepy and suggests more than just body, humanly love. Like, he's going to room in your brain with you or something.

Anyway, I've had a drink and I can't stop writing.

Thanks for listening.

Love u devs. I will wait patiently and angrily for another chapter. For now I will get all the beautiful achievements you have provided.

Bye, love u,
Danny

yea, its one of the more prominent theories going around. Its just figuring out who the spirit is possessing him.
