I want to kill Tabitha so badly
♥♥♥♥♥ thinks I'm her property or something. I'm going to be eternally frustrated when I know the game inevitably will not give me the ability to get her killed.

I haven't finished the 4th episode yet but nothing will make me change my mind.

Well, but should you make an effort to bond with her, she'll tell you that she is glad that you came and when you'll get in some monster trouble, should you call her for help, she'll rush to your aid with a shotgun.

I also suspect that bonding with her is a key to a good ending.

Can't say I relate - Tabby's such a sweet cousin and I love the bond she can share with the MC so much. She's one of my favorite characters in the game - only one I like more is Reese.

I guess she's one of these characters where it's up to you to take the first step towards friendship, and she'll respond in kind once she's not so wary.

But obviously, your opinion is also valid, and it's up to you if you try and befriend her to see a different side of her!

I love Tabitha! Her awkward teeth smile didn't change your mind? She's so cute and tired. Even though she's the main character's cousin, I'd be open to her as a romance option...

You guys are out of your mind lol :P. She literally treats the main character like she's (my character is a woman) property. Starting at the very beginning of the game and continuing throughout the entirety of it, she acts like the main character has zero autonomy, tries to boss her around in every single interaction, and expects her to just hang out in their spooky mansion, alone, ALL week while she goes and does other ♥♥♥♥.

Tabatha is the epitome of showing someone zero respect. Because it's just a video game and not real life, I would absolutely kill her if the devs gave that as an option.

This event & the achievement itself I thought was quite hilarious I'll admit. Matter of fact a lot of the achievements I think are extremely funny; the dev is doing a great job on that.

Eh, sorry, I still can't agree, and I'm certainly not out of my mind haha´
Tabby's controlling at the start, sure, which isn't necessarily strange given the circumstances. She's fine once she trusts / likes the MC. Very protective that's for sure - but the thing she basically asks from her cousin is to avoid danger. She tends to get very easily worried about them.
She generally respects the MC's choices and decisions, even if she can be grumpy about some of them

I guess you're sort of stuck in a loop where you don't like her and how she acts with the MC because you're not close enough to her in your playthrough, but you can't get yourself to get closer to her because you don't like her haha

Valid. And like I said I haven't finished every available episode yet. Maybe it gets better or maybe with different traits and answers, she is significantly more likable. But on this, my very first playthrough, I just want to smack the ♥♥♥♥ out of her lol

Haha yeah, I can understand. I think I got close to her pretty fast on my playthrough, all things considered. But I can imagine it may get annoying if she acts just the same as at the very start all the way along the story!

It appears to me that she is somehow involved in some of the mystical side of things. I suspect that her and Pearlanne did more than we realize to keep things at bay, or at least the worst of things that we havent even experienced yet. Part of the issue seems to be that she doesnt have anyone to lean on to help carry the burden and with Pearlanne gone, its all slowly unraveling. In my main play through, she is definitely controlling early on but she seems to support you when needed and is more trusting of you and expects that you don't do exactly as she wants. But she does run over to help when you need it. Still keeping secrets though.

I agree with your general take on that.

With that being said, it just so happens that my MC is EXTREMELY trusting - and I mean, to an excess, and of almost everyone. He basically prefers to give his trust and have it betrayed than doubt as a means of prevention. Yeah, not necessarily as smart choice, given the context, but he's an extremely pure boy!
So I guess it's easy to keep secrets from him without even trying, and as a player I certainly see less things since my character doesn't necessarily try to notice them.

Tabby is abrasive and controlling because she was forced to stay in SH when she didn't want to; was pushed to take over the family business, which requires her to be controlling.

she is very negative, BUT if you do the things she tells you not to (go into the mine, save Alexis and Becka, then vanquish Charlie Jr.), then Tabby begins respecting your decisions, whereas if you act as her minion, she treats you like crap for not making your own choices. If you choose to call her at Reese's in ep. 4 after bonding with her, you see a very different Tabitha vs if you ignored her or were just as negative back at her.

I don't hate her that intensely, but I lost all desire to befirend her (in my canon run that is) when she grabbed me in ep4 despite having been considerably nice to her all along.

I know I'm far from perfect, but my general thinking here is...if someone's being an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, even if it's just a mask or defense mechanism, I won't like you and I won't care about you enough to get to know you better.
stone.fire.smoke Dec 18, 2022 @ 11:35am
Don't forget Tabby had Pearlanne for a mother, notorious gossip, taskmaster boss and apparently super controlling. its not much of a leap to see how Tabitha turned out, hearing her entire life how the MC's mother abandoned the family, being shown the only way to be successful was to be overbearing to your employees, being denied the love of a close friend (Stella), having it drilled into you how important being a Scarlet was and maintaining the "legacy".

We don't know all the details, but she and Wayne were very close, and that didn't seem to turn out the way Tabby wanted, she's isolating herself for protection, being abrasive keeps people away so she can't get hurt. if you invest a little time with her, you begin to see a change.

I find this post pretty interesting, because it made me realize that if I knew Tabitha in real life I would completely agree with OP. If an estranged family member is rude and condescending to me, I'm not going to extend myself to try and "get on their good side" for no reason lmao. Especially once Tabitha grabbed one of my MCs in a run where I was generally polite/firm and chose the right dialogue options, but I didn't choose to hang out with her. I don't really care about the "why", if it's because they had a controlling parent or a bad childhood, that doesn't change a persons behavior. But because this is a visual novel, and a lot of the entertainment factor comes from actively befriending people, Tabitha is one of my favorite characters!
