Bad news about date option(spoilers probably)
The developers say we cannot date Dr. Kelly if we don't sacrifice years of life on X (Twitter)! I just can't accept this. At the very beginning I didn't plan to date anyone or consider Scarlet Hollow a dating sim, but Dr. Kelly's good organization and motherhood touched me so deeply in chapter 4 that I have to change my mind. I talked with them on X but it didn't seem like they will change that.

it has more to do with how they view her character; Dr. Kelly isn't the type to date outside her generation, your character is meant to be a peer to Reese and Dr. Kelly isn't portrayed as a "cougar".
Its interesting that this exists though ngl lol, gonna check this route out.

But other characters will date you regardless of your age or gender anyway! So your guess is not really plausible. Besides, this setting would upset 'hot' players because it as the specific trait to date is somehow not working at all in this situation.

not exactly, the HOT trait makes it easier to begin romantic relationships, your actions can still screw things up and I'm not "guessing". Dr. Kelly's character is dismissive of all Reese's friends, your HOT status changes nothing until you appear to be in her age demographic and then it becomes possible to date her, not before then.

Keep in mind the game is still being written, it is possible the devs will change things so she will be more interested in a younger main character, but as it is now, there is no way even with hot to do so.

She seemed dismissive of Reese's friends for an obvious reason. It's not her distaste for youngsters. It's Reese. At the end of chapter 4 when she has told the player every secret of her and her monstrous son, she is not dismissive anymore. She is even gracious. Stella and Kaneeka also said that she was kind to kids. And now we know that was before Reese's puberty when he turned strange.

It might make sense that the age gap of Oscar and the player is acceptable, while that of Dr. Kelly and the player is not. Rosalina is in the 8th grade, so she is probably 14. Reese might be a decade older than her. If we assume Dr. Kelly is the same older than Oscar, then the player might be 15 years younger than Oscar, and that figure is acceptable (more acceptable than 25 years).

"At the end of chapter 4 when she has told the player every secret of her and her monstrous son, she is not dismissive anymore. She is even gracious."

Depending on what actions your character took is what determines her dismissive nature and how gracious she is; after all you literally had a first hand look at her secrets, so its not as if she had to reveal much, she is also gracious if you prevented her son's death and kept him under the good doctor's control, so coming to the conclusion that she would somehow be more interested in you romantically is premature. If you choose to put Reese down, do you think it would help or hurt your romantic chances?

And being kind to children as a mother, especially when those children are friends of your son is not out of the ordinary nor demonstrates a propensity to date outside your age group.

The scene I refer to is the safe room scene, before player's major decision. She is honest and kind in that scene. So your point about her being dismissive is lame. That has nothing to do with age. She simply didn't want others to find out about her son.

You are confusing "honest and kind" with cooperative and imploring; your character literally controls her life and death (and Reese's), she is not malicious but she had no choice whatsoever than to be "honest and kind" at the end, lying at this point after you know everything would have resulted in you ignoring her. Without you she either dies or loses Reese (you know Reese, the only person she loves and cares about).

go through the forums here on steam, there are players who had no sympathy for Dr. Kelly and gladly allowed Reese to finish her, regardless of her last minute attempt at appearing honest and kind.

It is definitely "honest and kind". It cannot be more clear. Even if you don't admit that, at least her attitude will not change whether the player ages or not, so it's not about her personal preference. With all due respect, you are not "street smart" enough to read people.
Listen, I get it, you are attracted to older women with strong maternal instincts and some organizational skills; you want to read into these situations portrayed in the story to fulfill that fantasy (which explains why you went to the devs and asked for the romance with Dr. Kelly while maintaining the characters youth).

"Street smart" is looking at all her actions not just the ones which support your view. All Dr. Kelly's actions in perspective cannot support any attraction to your younger character because she is not written that way.

Kindness and honesty do not by themselves indicate an attraction to others, especially during an extremely stressful situation where she is trying to get your character to side with her AND keep her secrets. Lying and being curt or impolite with you would not accomplish any of her long term goals (saving Reese), she's not written as a stupid character.

The proverbial cat is well out of the bag by the time she confirms all her secrets you figured out by the time she admits them, she needs you to go along with her.

I never said she is ATTRACTED by youngsters. What I object is your opinion that she is dismissive of youngsters. Because her attitude won't change no matter the player ages or not. And I believe everyone with a high school diploma could tell that what she shows in safe room is pure genuineness. I was upset about the setting because I didn't realize her is noticeably older another character Oscar who will date the player regardless of they age or not. It seems you are not "book smart" enough to comprehend basic conversation either. Or something has happened to you that made you keen of making dark assumptions of others, both real people and game characters.

You could literally prove your point by going into the game files and looking at the dialogue options for Dr. Kelly; there isn't anything there backing up your perspective.

There is a metric in the files used for all characters you can romance, go look up what it takes for each character, Dr. Kelly is not designed to be what you want or how you think she is.
Yep, I've seen this in action. If a hot MC who hasn't aged tries to flirt with her, she rebuffs them. If hot MC is aged and tries to flirt with her, she gets a little flustered. It's cute.

As for this discourse, it could also be possible that she doesn't feel that type of attraction towards younger people and wants someone more in her age range. I'm just glad they opened up options to flirt with her without Hot. I assume she was intended to be like the "bonus" route in a legit dating sim in which they only have half the content of the main routes and requires specific conditions to trigger.
