Another Game Like Scarlet Hollow?
I've played Scarlet Hollow a lot and I'm very excited for episode 5! However, as I'm waiting, I would love to do another graphic novel like this, does anyone have any recommendations? It doesn't have to be scary, but I'd like another game that has a good story line, wonderful art, and lovable characters!

Hi! So glad you like our lil game. Some recs while you wait.

GOTTA start with Slay the Princess, our other game, which has an expansion coming out in a couple of weeks. A lot more surreal than Scarlet Hollow, but it has a similar blend of horror, dark comedy and romance.

Others:

Disco Elysium – dark, funny and insightful CRPG where you're a detective trying to piece together a complicated murder.

Perfect Tides - a heartfelt coming of age story about a young woman growing up in an island town. Point and click. Brilliant writing, but it takes a little bit to warm up. One of my all time favorites though! Very excited for the sequel coming out at some point in the near-ish future.

In Stars and Time – wonderful timeloop rpg. A ton of heart, great characters, very earnest. You'll probably cry.

If you are looking for a Horror VN with a heavy Social Dynamic theme, then The Letter might be what you are looking for. If you want less horror elements, turning off the Quick time Events cuts out many of the potential "dead end" options. With the endings then just being a result of your characters relations you have developed toward the end and who survives.

Could I interest you in 'The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante'?

I highly suggest "I was a Teenage Exocolonist" It's a great game that's based around repeated runs and has a lot of dynamic variability like Scarlet Hollow.
Theres a vampire game that hasn't come out yet but is SUPPOSED to release in early 2025 called Cabernet, I immediately thought of it when I played through this.

SO EXCITED TO SEE IN STARS AND TIME MENTIONED. It's amazing and I think everyone who's ever felt unloveable or is interested in time loops or pretty much anyone who exists should play it. Also I saw someone mentioned I Was a Teenage Exocolonist, which is a great game as well where the characters actually grow up and change over time.

Also you might like We Know the Devil if you like eerie visual novels, it's very short compared to Scarlet Hollow though.
I stumbled on this during the winter sale and ended up being really impressed with it! It is much deeper than it seems at first!

Not many games close to it I've found. There are other visual novels but not so much with the length of choices and such that this has in fact most other visual novels I've played are quite limited with choices and often choices are between two options.
