How evil is Sybil really?
So maybe Sybil has the "greater good" in mind; maybe the stakes are so high, the ends really do justify the means.....but how bad is it since she has already resorted to:

even if we assume she didn't know about the mine seal to warn you, she allowed her daughter and friends to go into a house she knew was haunted; she was not surprised by the possession or overly concerned about the damage to anyone, especially if you or Tabby had to sacrifice years of your life; if you used booksmart, she even tells you the outcome was unexpected.

She has no problem drugging people to do things against their will, make them exhausted or make them forget information.

Sybil knew about Reese's true condition and went to Dr. Kelly to offer her "help"; Dr. Kelly even admits to being on the receiving end of a bad one-sided deal, calling Sybil a snake.

Sybil purposely withholds information that could help you; a heads up about Reese could have avoided the whole situation; Wayne knew Charlie Jr. had no real power, why did Sybil not tell you the same thing earlier, as she even admitted it would be better for one of the Scarlets to give up life to put the spirit to rest, but that she could still get you out if you refused.

Lastly, she told us after the ghost hunt that she would give us answers the next day when we saw her for tea; all I got was more smoke and mirrors keeping me in the dark.

Yeah, without being as extreme, the compulsion she uses really rubs me the wrong way (and she's creepy as hell).
So while we don't really know her true motives either, she's clearly the character I'm most wary of

This actually dovetails with a theory I have about the game in general. That your entire purpose there is to become a victim / host for the spirit of Pearlanne Scarlet ala SKELETON KEY or GET OUT. She currently resides in the rotting (but empowered) corpse of Sam Wayne and is taking the steps she is to protect her future investment.

Could be that Sybil intends to Gazump Pearlanne to it - using the right ritual at the right time (ie the Funeral) to take possession of you and leave her own body behind.
She has mentioned already she has difficulty getting around now, and if she finds a way to off Tabitha, it could be an open & shut that in possession of your body she would have the 'wealth' such as it is of the Scarlet Family, plus all the benefits of a younger form.

Don't know, but can't wait for part five.

Wayne is a homie ain't no way he let us get possessed... right?

I wonder if that is what Tabby alludes to when she tells you she is not a good person when you hang out with her; might be why she doesn't want to discuss Wayne at all, she betrayed Wayne allowing Pearlanne to take control.

Go back even further, maybe its actually Enoch; Enoch and Alexandra died on the same day; maybe Enoch is jumping forward through time, became Edwardine, then Pearlanne, now seeking the next host....

Imma be really sad if Wayne betray me at the end, no bro to watch you sleep, why live?

Honestly after my latest playthrough I kinda have a theory that Sybil might be the witch from the haunting in chapter 3... maybe she's much, much older than we think. Granted all I'm going on is that Kaneeka was made to play the witch, and that Tabitha has a line like "This person is obviously suspicious. Anyone who would take anything from them is a moron" or something like that... so it would be really funny and ironic if she had been taking tea from the same person that whole time lol. But does that mean she's evil? I'm not sure. Definitely the scariest part of Chapter 4 for me was the way she controls her own daughter and forces her to feel guilty and go back to bed, and then just stares at you as you leave... But it's hard to say for sure one way or the other. She's an enigma :P

There is a very slight chance she isn't pure evil...but even if she's not, you can't trust her, she's too manipulative. I mean she comes across like the emperor from Star Wars, right before seizing power.

afaik Wayne is slated to be an official love interest and the devs have gone on record multiple times stating they will not have incest in the game, so whatever the "Entity" borrowing Sam's corpse is, I'm certain it isn't a Scarlet.

I will agree, though, with the theory that we were called there to be a victim/sacrifice as the only other available Scarlet. And that Wayne is trying to keep us alive for something...

Unless, of course, that’s just misdirection ???

Finally somebody else also thinking Sybil is not a good person!

To me the most telling thing is that she stonewalls everybody all the time. She certainly _knows_ what is going on, yet always puts all inquiries to the dead end.

Yes, Mystic sees her with a blinding aura but, as the recent tea exchange shows, she literally mind-controls us into not thinking how she could be a 'cat' (if you drink a tea), and subtly or not nudges us to think that Tabitha is the cause of all future evil.

The Mystic protagonist also finds her tea "too soothing". So what if those who drink her tea actually have a monster side to them and she sedates them just like Reese?
