Menu/controller is borked. [SOLVED]

Can't play the game, I'm just not fast enough to hit START GAME, as the highlighted option just continually rolls bottom to top.

Having once managed to start the game, just the merest touch of the right analogue stick causes the game to go to the settings menu, where again the the highlighted item again rolls top to bottom.

Sony Dual Sense and Dual Shock both do the same, Changed options in Big Picture and used DX4 in both PlayStation and Xbox configs. Nothing works.

I'm so sorry to hear that! This is a known bug and we are currently working to solve it. Are you by any chance using a virtual controller, like vJoy?

No virtual AFAIK, just regular plug and play drivers for Sony controllers.
Both controller were being used via BlueTooth, if that matters.

Hi! We're trying to track down this issue, and so far we can only see vJoy-related problems. Can you double-check that you do not have a vJoy device enabled (it might have been installed via other programs)?

1. Device Manager (WIN + X/Device Manager)
2. Expand Human Interface Devices
3. Look for vJoy Device. Right-click and disable. You might need to restart the computer.

I turned the pad on and refreshed, no changes were detected and no vJoy in the list.

Might just be unique to Sony controllers is my best guess. I have no Xbox controller to test this hypothesis.

I think I've cracked the case.

If I launch the game from Steam via the PLAY button, the game works fine, no issue what-so-ever.

BUT, normally I create a shortcut (drag and drop) .exe icons from Steam Apps to my WinStep tab bar when I install a game, and this is where I usually launch games from. This creates the rolling problem. Weird huh?

PINNED ANSWER: If you experience issues with automatic menu scrolling we have found that it is related to one of two things:

• vJoy is installed, which creates a virtual gamepad that constantly sends input upwards. Apply the following steps to disable vJoy:

1. Device Manager (WIN + X/Device Manager)
2. Expand Human Interface Devices
3. Look for vJoy Device. Right-click and disable. You might need to restart the computer.

• (Rare) Launching the game via a shortcut in a Dock such as WinStep might create this same issue. Try launching the game from within Steam.

EDIT: Since we have seen other issues with auto scrolling in the menu I am removing this as topic answer. We are currently investigating other causes to this problem.

I have the same problem but the only thing i see in the HID list is Virtual HID but i can't disable or uninstall it and i am not using a controller. Hopefully this will be fixed in the future because i can't play the demo right now.

so i have the same issue, only neither solutions did it for me, the game looks interesting so i hope this will be fixed. It looks like with playstation controllers the controls are all swapped around, for example hitting my right joystick to the right is like spamming escape and rapidly closes the game :/ also it stops scrolling really fast when i hold the left stick down but pressing x seems to do nothing. Hope any of this helps.

I have a PS4 controller but i only use it for fighting games. For all the other games i use a keyboard and mouse because that's the most comfortable for me.

I have experienced the same problem. I tried 3 different controllers, with and without checking them in the Steam controllers settings. I have tried the Steam controller itself, the ps4 dualshock and the xbox controller.

I'm having the same issue, I am using a foot pedal so I suspect that might be causing the problem.

I solved the problem. Steam was detecting my Roccat Leadr Stand as my primary controller so i completely disabled it in Windows.

I've got the same problem, the menu goes crazy and scrolls constantly, this happens even when I boot the game with no controller connected! No idea what's going on but I don't have "vjoy" installed or anything like that. No other game does this, hopefully the devs can fix this bug?
