MINERVA grinding?

I was doing some missions and have noticed that if you fail or abort mission, everything you collected or done inside the mission will be lost when you go back to the save. Could this mean that now I can`t steal the 99x Phoenix Down from Mission 9-6-6 and have them in my inventory? This was the best aspect of the game once I manage to get powerful. At first I liked this new rework of the missions but if it comes at this cost, I will prefer the og.
Can somebody tell if they reached Minerva steal and have the 99x Phoenix Down with you or not?

You lose everything you've collected in a mission if you fail or abort it because it's reverting back to the state before the mission began. Though if you've made it to Minerva, you may as well try to best her in my opinion.

I will but the steal the phoenix downs and build Zack stats was part of what made the og so good game, now that they "fixed" there is no more fun in being the op among mortals :(

Its patched. Otherwise you could steal the 99 PD. Abort & repeat over and over.

Edit; it makes sense why. Would be OP & entirely through with the game in well under 30hrs just like in the psp vrsn if you could loot then abort the mission. Just a little while longer to get godlike this time around.

If you are at Minerva you can still be OP by farming three stars mobs. I believe is 9-5-3 or 9-5-2 mission. All you need is Darkness with 100 STR and some other materia to make your STR 255. Multi killing those mobs will net you 60k-120k SP per fight. Not only that, if you equip the double loot accessory, they drop mythril accessories which is 10k gold per piece, sometimes they drop 2x (meaning that you get 4x with the accessory). So in about 30 minutes you can farm 10 milions sp points and around 2 milions guil, you won't need more to make all 255 and 99k hp and buy the genji helm.

those side mission reward and chest already give high stats dmw materia, you probably already op before minerva

Now I thought to have different set of materia but since it take ages to have a 999% or +100 I guess that is just a dream far away :(

If you've been getting all the chests in the caverns, you should have an accessory that negates MP cost, and/or the one that negates AP cost. Just equip that, the "Brutal" accessory to break the damage cap, and then either hammer fist or magic punch.

thanks, I am doing 9-6-4 already so I will go back there to farm but I am in Hard Mode so it will took longer than 10 min ;)
