@_@ so many hidden easter eggs and such
many return in the remake, and some are in crisis core, which will make things confusing.
youll ask yourself whos this? whos that? as most are repeating chars and villians
Just jump straight to Crisis Core or Remake if you don't want to play the original. I'm not sure which one is the best starting point for those who haven't played the original.
where as in ff7 zacks just a flashback , flashback i think should happen if added in remake 2
kinda tough to avoid ff7 and jump into others without getting the full story.
ff7 is still a great game to this day even if some dont wanna give it a try
OP really should as so much story it adds to the others
But I'd definitely suggest playing the original. There is a lot there that you'll be missing out on, especially since Remake is actually a sequel and not a real remake. The Remake in the title is a play on words in the essence of it's "remaking the timeline". The second part is called Rebirth, which is to signify their new life after ending their "destiny" being on a new timeline. You basically miss all of this without the knowledge of the original.
Either original ff7, then remake, then crisis core or remake then crisis core. It sounds stupid and out of whack, and it is, but the truth of it is there are horrifyingly stupid plotholes in the original that are SORT OF explained by the remake.
You know how intimate knowledge of something ruins it's appeal in media? Knowledge of firearms, for example, make a TON of action movies look stupid.
Crisis core makes the original ff7 look kinda stupid at one major juncture in terms of story by suggesting events played out a little different than we see them in FF7 original, but the remake actually offers an alternative viewpoint so it appears to be a forgivable difference, because...
You need to play it to find out :D
