is this game canon in current ff7r timeline?

I think they just make a remastering for we all play and know the story of Zack, cause in the next Final Fantasy Rebirth, he will appear more. In my opinion maybe we have two lines, one following the original game and the other to show how could it be with Zack alive

FF7 Remake is a sequel to the original FF7 game. It is canon and a direct continuation without contradictions. It involves time travel elements, as I'm sure you saw. It also involves a parallel universe, a timeline in which Zack survives. However, it does not suport Crisis Core (or the Reunion remaster). Despite what others will say CC has too many contradictions and retons from the timeline where Cloud joins Avalanche and beyond. Crisis Core is a spin-off take on Zack's life and it is based, partially, on the original game's story and thus carries some details but take it as a more "fun" spin off. Aside from minor to even severe retcons it also severely changes Aerith and Sephiroth's personalities and history far too severely.

As for the remake you can tell Zack is in a different universe because of some clues such as teh Stamp logo (the shinra dog mascot) is different from the one in the main party's timeline. You can also see that Cloud is alive as well as Zack but Cloud and Aerith of that timeline don't know him to be alive and Cloud has the buster sword as well. The people at the church are there when they shouldn't be and the church, itself, is quite different (this is actually a substantial change as it existed almost certainly before Aerith and Zack were even alive which shows just how far that timeline diverges at points). We aren't totally sure how Zack will be worked into Rebirth tbh as there are a few different possibilities and not all of them even have Zack physically meeting the main party by crossing dimensional boundaries but rather influencing/communicating from a distance. What is strange and seems so far overlooked is Sephiroth's character which, at least so far, seems singular between the different timelines... The only theory I can take for this, thus far, is the others were either killed by him or in the future or merged (via lifestream consciousness, etc.).

i mean, ff7R isnt cannon, so who cares? its made by the guy who was in charge of making concept art for characters for the original FF7, i dont consider him to be an authority on whats cannon, especially when hes the guy responsible for the hot mess that is the KH series.

That is a very disingenuous take considering Nomura was also involved in the story with things like Aerith's death, as well as coming up with limit breaks.

he IS the authority couse he's the main plot designer with Kitase. And only Kitase can reclaim this authority. And he done it kicking him couse Kitase want more modifications that Nomura didn't like and wanted to be close tot he original. I think you did not understand what's going on. The director aprooves this timeline, the original game is a non-real future projection of Aeris and the FFVIIR is the current real timeline and canon.

he was the character concept artist for ff7. he wasnt anything else. the fact that they gave him the lead for the remake, even though he had almost nothing to do with the original, just shows how little the current leadership at SE actually cares about their games.
