Quickest way to level up Materia
Aside from the DMW Moogle. how can you lvl up your materias? i am in chapter 5 and i am killing mobs too quickly for the DMW to activate anything. is there anything specific that makes materia lvl up faster? like using 1 specific materia to get kills?

If u dont mind "cheat" u can try one of the first side quests where u need to kill standard shinra troops, just leave it afk and do something else, DMW will recover your hp enemys just does like 5 hp per hit

TBH, leveling up materia is a bit pointless and even might work a bit against you at end game if you decide to grind end game.

I think i understand what you mean. Mastered materia create different items in fusion than non mastered materia correct?

i have been googling around trying to figure out how to quickly get HP +999%
i started by using potions but then it got to a point where the fusion menu would not allow me to use potions anymore. i used what little i had of stronger potions but i dont have many and no shop to buy them yet.

As i mentioned before. i have been focusing on side missions and i have gotten my damage up so i can quickly kill most monsters but its getting harder to survive some attacks with only 4k HP when attacks are hitting for almost 9k now from enemies.

So, for example Darkness. You equip Mogs amulet and farm devils/demons. This gives you an infinite amount of them from a single quest.

You then use potions until they don't work then set that aside as your main. Then do it again to another stack of potions and materia and combine the result with the first one. repeat until you're satisfied.

Note that you'll have to also farm something like ap++ to convert to sp because going over +500% on anything is going to be expensive asf.

edit: and yeah don't equip the materia you're working on or at least be ready to back out if a moogle decides to master it.

Thank you for the examples. i see i can use more potions on different HP+ that i am building up. but i dont have a shop to buy HP+ materias from yet. so i am limited to what i can obtain from side missions for now.

i dont have Mogs Amulet yet. but i can farm demons/devils for darkness materia.

Edit: i think you meant that darkness materia are what is used to boost the HP % instead of using HP+ materias right?

If you want to boost hp up materia its easiest to farm ap up of the same type (so hp with ap, hp+ with ap+ and hp++ with ap++

hp up can be mastered and still worked with unlike a lot of others.

Even if the combat lasts 1 second, you still get one roll of DMW. When the combat ends, it immediatly ends the roll. That's why you often get level ups right as the battle ends.

err does no one know?
meh i guess no one plays with matera fusion.
Cure + fire\thun\blizzard = Max any stat
why does no one know this? u get this from the first materia shop... or you could just steal\ mug what you need.

but if you just want to rank it up for dome reason u can just progress and buy the lucky stars dmv

Depends which materias. Some materias (especially offensive ones) become stronger the bigger their rating is. But yes Materia Fusion very often becomes problematic on mastered materias so it is better to master the stats first and then master the materia itself.
In my testing, aside from the substat of a materia no materia actually becomes stronger with rank. It appears to be strictly based off your int stat and the enemies' defensive stats.

No one will usually mess with materia fusion because its a pointless system. You can find all the materia you want from missions and via Mog Amulet. The only exception is early on you can't get Costly Punch from missions early unless you fuse it the moment you unlock the materia fusion system (ex Rush + a Punch materia iirc) and a bit later dualcast. The rest of the materia are all acquired as early as in chapter 2/3 via missions, mog, shops.

Fusing items is really efficient ez mode for max stats. Just sell SP Master materia stolen from mobs and you have all the SP you could possibly need.

Fusion materia could have been a cool mechanic but its just largely a moot one due to CC:R balance bypassing its own system with ample rewards/alternatives that are far superior.

Materia Fusion is useful for stat maxing but also for getting some rare materias early in the game and later as well. Costly Punch is not the only exception. The only way to get more than 1 SP Turbo is through Materia Fusion.
Thanks for that. I just tested after seeing your post to verify and I was wrong about the "Mastered does not improve damage" part of my post, it does make a difference just that its typically fairly small per level (or even between rank 0 and mastered, but especially per level) so I thought it was just the minor variance as I leveled the materia and not because of the mastered status. Interesting to know though I guess this helps verify that, ultimately, stats have the biggest influence by far and mastering is just a minor boost. Important materia will end up mastered due to fact they're being actively used, anyways, but its good to have confirmation it does matter, especially for something like Darkness which looks very weak early but after the right stats/mastered gets pretty good.

You can actually steal SP Turbo materia just a heads up: https://www.gamerguides.com/crisis-core-final-fantasy-vii-reunion/database/materia/support-materia/sp-turbo-magic
