Fatal error?

Ever sense the patch, whenever I try to load my game the game crashes stating "Fatal error!" Which isn't a particularly helpful error message. Is anyone else struggling with this or know a solution?

Did u try verify game files in steam?

A fresh install ended up being the solution.

Fatal error CE4 CCFF7R I never get past the start of the game after the 1st fight you have control of.

Updated to the newest drivers and get the same error.

no errors or crashes here 40+ hours played, verify game files if that doesn;t work could be a hardware or registry issue not game, very well optimised.

Don't know if anyone has had this happen. If you use Life to kill undead, you need to stop it one the last one. If you try to kill it with life the game will lock up and you will have to close the game. Needless to say that you will lose all work back to your last save. To bad they didn't include an auto save in this game.

there is an auto save, maybe you have controlled folder access enabled via windows defender where you will have to manually unblock every game that tries to save to my documents, or do you mean auto save before every fight? that would cause a lot of stutters :P

I got this message in the wrong thread! I was trying to post it in the FF2 thread and somehow got it here.

As I posted for CRISIS CORE –FINAL FANTASY VII– REUNION. I get that Fatal error CE4 CCFF7R and have never got past the game loading when you exit after the battle when you get off the train at the start of the game. Wish I could play it but no clue why the error.

This new patch has fixed the problem.. If this is the same as the PSP game, I loved it!

a few people fixed this by fresh install new nvidia drivers, installing the visual c++ redist stuff but again square enix games vs performance are a mind field full of problems these days.
