I wish they approach to FF7 Remake to make the Cutscene ingame not pre-rendered...
FF7 Remake is full of prerendered cutscenes tho.
They had to re-render them to swap the model for the sword, still the same scenes, but if you wanted to painstakingly try to swap the design of the sword in each scene by either painting over it or editing it that'd be a pain. A simple model swap and re-render would fix that easily.
And considering they re-did all the summon cutscenes, it kinda makes sense they'd just re-render the PSP scenes to have the new version of the buster sword instead of the crisis core model.
Point stands, FF7 Remake still has prerendered cutscenes, they're making it sound like that's a thing of the past and it's a bad thing, when it's not lol. Especially with how seamless they are these days with gameplay.
FF7R had prerendered cutscenes as well. CCR has the same ratio of prerendered to in-game cutscenes that FF7R had.
Meanwhile this game you can even see how High Model when cutscene started, you realize that's Pre-Rendered...
Like I said, I'm not a Fan with Pre-render thing... just like what happen to Nier Automata...
This game has some cool CGI scenes and some others are in-engine, don´t see how that would be a negative but people these days find the weirdest things to complain about so whatever.
CCR has about the same number. I really don't understand the problem. I get you don't like them, but hand waving away the fact about FF7R having them just feels disingenuous. CCR has like... 10? And the rest of the time it's in-game graphics.
Creating whole new cutscenes would have cost more money. The upres is a decent middle ground.
