Zack's new voice isn't that bad.

I've been playing the game for a couple hours on PS4 and I'm not hating Zack's new voice as much as I thought I would. It's definitely a downgrade and a little inconsistent, but I can see how it'll be a good warmup for Rebirth.

Granted, I'm still looking forward to voice replacement mods, but I don't mind the voice currently.

Bro have you played the original? like at all? your clearly missing out a better VA for zack's voice if you think this new one is good lamo.

No thanks but... either i'll avoid this game or just use the Japanese dub instead becuase these new VA's suck.

This is not an actual question btw, why in the frick would anyone want a main chars VA whos supposed to be a soldier first class sound like hed cry to his mommy for stubbing his toe on the door.

Just no all the way, even without comparing it to rick

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed, been such a long time fan of the original ever since it released so it's really messing with my head every time and I keep expecting to hear "I'm trying, I'm trying!" which is a better line than what they changed it to.

It isn't the voice that's necessarily bad, but the delivery definitely is, as is the facial animations

Iirc they changed from Rick in Remake to make him be more young and energetic fun chaotic energy.

Now I'm not saying every line is a banger job but it's really not that bad.

The scenes where it really shines are the emotional scenes.

Plus the Japanese audio isn't flawless either. When Zack normally goes "yeah!" As good win quote the Japanese "OSHA!!!" is very very much rough in my opinion.

People just should pick whichever one they want and if they don't like it then just turn off voices. There's a slider for that. Let your nostalgia fill in the audio for you or something. Plus to everyone crying out for modders, learn to do it yourself and be the change you want.

I would've loved if they gave an option for "legacy" voices. But they didn't, so...

People need to just deal with it because its going to be his voice in Remake 2 as well. Plus its not even that bad. Want to hear a REAL terrible voice? Look up Ada in the new Resident Evil 4.

No. I dont even recall zacks old voice tbh. All I know is I dont need my first class soldier protag sounding like he needs to run to his mommy everytime he talks.

Frankly it's still a fun game. I personally still dislike the new VA, mostly Zack too, but wanting to refund the game for VA is a bit silly. Could've done better with delivery but is what it is.

When the main character has a voice that doesn't at all fit the character in a game with a good story and a lot of speaking, especially when he's taking over from someone who did a REALLY good job the first time, it kind of ruins the experience. It's like trying to listen to a symphony while there's someone in the background loudly talking on a cell phone. It's not going to totally ruin the experience but it's certainly going to mar it.
