Cloud ends up with a lot of very powerful skills, materia and equipment compared to Zack, such as KoTR, Omnislash, and Ultima Weapon.

With absolute equipment parity, i think Zack would be the stronger of the two. He actually made it from rookie to 1st class and that probably translates in very hard training and more physical Mako "enhancements" under Shinra.

I've only played FFVII and FFVII Remake. I have not played Crisis Core, but I plan to.

Zack is stronger at beginning of his story then Cloud is, but he is weaker at the end of his story then Cloud is at the end of his.

Simple answer: Cloud is stronger. Complicated answer: because of Cloud being injected by Hojo with pure S cells, Cloud has more potential to be stronger although Zack has more combat experience

Knowing what they did on 7 Remake? I would discard Advent Children.

Thinking only on the ORiginal Story. At the end of the Advent Children, I would guess Cloud is stronger, but he still lacks the confidence to move forward, the death of the people important to him still hurts him deeply there.

I think, in the OG 7, Cloud is exactly what Zack is. Zazk sorta imprinted on Cloud who he was, so even the fighting style is the same. Cloud changed and evolves his style on Advent Children to use multiple swords that can merge into one single one. So at the end of that Cloud is stronger.

But with the new storyline, something will change. And we need to know what's happening. I frankly have no idea XD

AC Cloud smashes CC Zack, no dif. At the end of that movie, Cloud is flying through the air and slicing buildings like Sora. Zack doesn't have strength or speed feats that come even remotely close. Cloud is able to keep up with super strong ghost Sephiroth, while Zack loses to alive and weaker Sephiroth (who, funny enough, Cloud ends up killing).

Cloud is definitely stronger, by like, a metric ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ by the end of his journey. You could argue MAYBE Zack could have continued to be stronger if you know, events played out differently. But he got cut off before that could happen, so

Cloud is way stronger when not nerfed but technically from a gameplay standpoint Zack is Stronger since he can break limits and maxes out at 99999 Hp unlike Cloud who is capped at 9999 and 999 MP.
(also Zack doesn't seem to be affected by the Jenova Cells or S Cells as negatively as Cloud was prob because of the Mako exposure Soldiers got or whatever)
