How do I set up online mulitplayer?

My friend and I have been super excited to try this game, however now that we have it we realize we can play together from different computers, we can only play from one computer.

To play multiplayer online you both need to have the game opened. The person that’s going to invite has to hit play and choose in which save file they want to play, then picks multiplayer and in the character selection before selecting character has to press the button the UI says (H by default). After doing that the steam UI to invite should appear, if not you can manually invite by going to the friends list on steam, right click on you friend and invite, or your friend can join the same way but instead of having an invite button will have a join button.
