I think a game mode system based on ranks—like one for players at rank 1-10, 10-20, and 20-30—would be super helpful! Or maybe using levels instead of ranks could work too! Just to be clear, I don’t want to get rid of unranked or ranked, but sometimes people just want to play with others at their own skill level. Right now, unranked and ranked mix all levels together, and even in ranked, you can still end up with lower level teammates.
I know the player base isn’t the biggest, so splitting it too much might make matchmaking take longer. But instead of multiple brackets, maybe they could just add one game mode specifically for newer players to compete against each other!
The issue isn’t seeing the same players over and over—I actually think it’s so cute when I recognize someone in a lobby, and we emote together. The real problem is that the people I keep running into are crazy strong and can take me out in seconds… and I’m not even brand new! A lot of players who should be facing opponents their own level in ranked are instead going into unranked, instantly wiping out new players and making them quit out of frustration!
And it’s even worse when these players have T.U.N.I.N.G. or Aura, making them super overpowered! Jumping into a match full of newbies just to farm easy kills feels kinda bully-ish, and sadly, a lot of players do that. A beginner-friendly mode would make things so much nicer and more welcoming, giving new players a chance to actually learn, improve, and have fun instead of getting stomped over and over! It’s chasing players away and that’s something we, as a community, should try to avoid doing if the devs won’t try to fix it.
yeah once you hit expert you'll notice stacked teams constantly
