The current state of Purple Dabi (Please make him stronger)

Dabi can hardly fight in a battle. The guy has no reliable abilities. The guy is only good on defense and still loses against most characters, with the only exception being Iida which he is good against.

The first thing to tackle is his need for consistency. He needs some way to hit an enemy and that slow ass homing projectile is not gonna cut it. Speed it up.

The traps should have more hit points or deal more damage, They aren't any threat to someone with range, [which is everyone] except one character “Iida”. If you think you have a good setup within a small space, everything is gone once someone does a decently large area of effect move
(Mt lady, Red Deku, All for one pull, Shigi,Ochaco ) The traps should have an aggressive option too. Make the explosion last longer and or be bigger, maybe that will help. There are many options for a good change.

The gamma is cool, but oh my… Why does it not have armor(cannot be canceled). There are so many times I lose it through cancellation. Give it extra ammo while you are at it. Everyone keeps getting so much mobility ammo, give the guy some consistent defense, If you won’t give him damage.
It should probably do more damage too though. I mean compare it to red dabi’s version and you realize how weak it is. It is only on the edge that it deals ticking damage like why can't it be inside too, just a little bit of extra damage.

The devs have managed to keep most of the old characters afloat in the current meta, but purple dabi needs some work.
I like his playstyle a lot and wish for him to have a chance against good players who pick strong characters. Momo made it, Kendo is super strong, Ibara is ok? Shoto is decent, mr compress feels nice and can support now. Don’t forget the purple Dabi, he is cool too.

What’s your opinion?

Another problem I have noticed is that he is lacking a powerful move that makes him win the game. I always get second place at best.

What really? I feel like he is quite decent. I guess I need to play him some more to get the feel. I mean his damage is more reliable than Dabi. He just struggles against rapids who is always in the air.

shigi has the most match ups in the game that he has pretty much a 100% losing chance against and its not just rabids

Yeah agree to disagree. Dabi is still really good in enclosed spaces. I got multiple wins and i mained dabi for several days so im not just saying it cause I don't play him. Same with Shigi and mt.lady. They aren't bad at all its just that some other characters are TOO good. The only thing Dabi needs is his alpha reworked cause really fast characters can easily avoid it.

When I mention small space I forgot to add with open air. E.g, bushes, rock formation, hills that sort of thing. It does help, but is not a good enough win conditon. He is good in enclosed spaces I agree with you. E.g, Fire zone, typhoon, mountain, and inside buildings on the other map. But the arena has to be specific for him to do good or do his best. I also wanna add that a lot changes once you are among coordinated players. I mostly play with randoms so when playing on defense actually meant something to my team it felt really good. Being the main focus or the barrier between your enemy and your allies, does require teamwork to make it effective. When you have the Purple Dabi the plan or the pace change as with most characters with low mobility. You just need a patience group to play with or someone who is willing to play around your character's strength.

even in a close space shigi cant win again half the characters in the game except if the other player is really really bad

and not even mentioning that shigis abilities dont even work how they are supposed to 50% of the time

there is no incentive to buff basic / free characters, as this is a gacha game. They want people to shell out money for stronger kits. Better to play someone else.
