My cursor is invisible, what can I do?

My cursor is visible, but I can't click on anything.

Try pressing alt+return to switch between windowed/fullscreen mode.

You can also try disabling pointer trails in Windows if you have that enabled.

My screen is black/green/strange, what can I do?

Try pressing alt+return to switch between windowed/fullscreen mode.

The game freezes at startup / The screen is black for 10 minutes before the game starts

Try disabling any 3rd party anti-virus and firewall software that might be running. The game works fine with the standard Microsoft Defender, no need to disable that one.

The map screen is scrolling down/right constantly, how do I make it stop?

The map can be scrolled via a gamepad. So try unplugging any gamepad or joystick.

(Steam Deck) The steam deck doesn't seem to register keystrokes

If you run it using proton it will work. It is in the properties/compatibility settings in steam.

(Mac) Can I continue to run CoE5 on my old intel mac

It is still possible to run CoE5 if you have an older intel Mac. You can either continue to use version 5.30 which runs on intel macs or you can use wine/crossover to run the new version. If you want to use the network lobby, you have to use the new version.

In steam, right click CoE5 and then properties / betas
Opt in to legacy private beta in steam (no password).

----- Use wine/crossover (you need homebrew installed): -----
brew install wine
cd ~/Library/Application\ Support/Steam/steamapps/common/ConquestOfElysium5
wine CoE5.exe

Well, the modding manual is a bit... incomplete regarding descriptions of some commands, but I understand that this really couldn't have the highest priority.

Anyway, I wanted to thank you for implementing quite a few of the requests I posted in the Modding Wishlist. So, thank you very much for your effort.

Edit: I just realized my phrasing could be taken as sarcastic? That would not be my intention then. It is meant sincerely.

Steam has a field for a link to manuals, you may want to use that for this. Well, both, really.

Are routed units supposed to die even the moment they leave the field even if you win after? I think this might be a bug.

interesting, good to know what the actual problem cause is. i have a 2nd screen so moving the cursor to the 2nd screen, then bringing the cursor back into the game screen at the *top* of the screen also brings back the pointer for me
