I don't know the intial source, but some Horrors can cast Void magic with aforementioned spell, so it's only going to get worse for the army initially affected.
Your best bet is to detach Horrors Marked units (shift+? in army screen to learn the shortcut for that) and send them into a glorious one-way journey on your opponent or to explore other planes.
Oh, and if Tainted Magic is still active (you didn't get "The magic is no longer tainted" message), then you should refrain from casting any Rituals for the time being.
In a tainted magic event.
In a deep temple.
The message "someone was watching you" was there and I like to imagine horrors were quite pissed off at someone using a temple dedicated to them for some unholy nonsense.
