I don't care how OP or not. I love the story and world building and the uniqueness of all the classes. They are all good fun to play. I've played all of them, some way more than others.
Illusionist - Once he gets going he's omnipresent. Hide guarded mirrors as portals and it's fun time! Clones and a Castle that can go to different planes also.
Voice of El - Actual world-changing terraforming goodness. Inquisitions and Crusades. Get ready to bug out when *hit hits the fan.
High Cultist - Crazy. Control the seas and the stars. Astrology is awesome for his lore. Starspawns and Horror assassins. Summon sea monsters. Doesn't get too much better than this.
Warlock - Possibly the best class to go planar exploring. Awesome units. Control the elements. Cloud Castles. So good. Spread Air and Cloud elementals across the land.
Enchanter - Really cool rituals. Hard nut to crack. Golems, golems, golems. He's an artificer so make Artefacts.
Witch - Swamp Hag. A bit like the Illusionist in the sense that she can use portals (swamp) to traverse the land. Solid class.
There are many others!
Here's mine. For what it's worth, I don't think power tier lists are particularly valuable in CoE5, as so many factors affect the game and each class can perform drastically differently even on the same Society depending on neighbours and other randomised factors.
That said, some have some seriously OP mechanics (like Illusionist being able to xerox new Level 3 combat Illusionists for 60 gems or whatever it is) and as such it's worth knowing about those.
