He could have ended the game for me quite quickly but I had a backup citadel. Always nice to see that he has an entourage of troops that he has enslaved.
I hope you Truecharmed him
I rarely see him. Pushing on 100 hours now, and I only remember seeing the bastard once.
He was playing out in the ocean, thankfully, and I didn't even know he could charm/enslave his own army... when the monster finally came ashore, I squashed him easily enough.
It's the invisible soulshatters and other high-tier horrors that spawn around your base from day 1 that get me.... "Oh, let me explore 3 tiles to the west of my.... aaaand that's a restart"
I've even started a game with a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ soulshatter directly one tile adjacent to my starting citadel! (was barbarian: totem has spirit sight) This is just retarded, honestly. I've noticed plenty of AI factions get wiped out by horrors in the early game too. There is just no counter to invisible (scouts don't help) army destroying SC horrors milling about in the early game, right next to your start location.
I once did a series of tests with warlock. Just waiting how long it takes for an apprentice offer to show up.
In one test my starting citadel was attacked on turn one by a horror. Don't know which one it was, but it was strong enough that if I had moved out my casters or split up my starting units I would have lost then and there.
