Conquest is a campaign mode and no amount of Humpty-Dumptying will change that.
tolls don't read posts. they just react to them.. go back and read some of what i said. if you have the comprehension to do so
So why don't you? I have every Dune game on CD to DVD, including Dune 2 on 1.44" floppies. No originals? No worries. They have remastered versions you can download for free.
DSW was $25 Cdn for me. That's half of my hourly salary. I played maybe about 13 hours so far total. Do I regret buying it? No. Why would I? Why would any of you? It's the cost of one lunch. Are you folks so poor, that $25-$35 is a major dent to your wallet? Perhaps then, don't buy games. ;) You know what I regret? Buying this $290,000 apartment built in 1988, back in 2017, finding out that there is a looming $57,000 siding upgrade cost coming within the next couple of years. My real estate agent was lame. Should have seen the signs and took on another agent.
Okay. So what's the problem again? You didn't buy the game. What are you complaining about? Or are you just another one of the attention seekers with nothing better to do? I would say get a life, but clearly... ;)
"just get the original cd's"
bro... most computers today don't come with dvd drives
I didn't say "get the original CDs".
I implied very obviously that OP can go download Emperor Battle For Dune. Eg: "No originals? No worries. They have remastered versions you can download for free."
In short, they're complaining about nothing. They didn't buy DSW. They have the choice to spend time playing something else they enjoy.
He is not complaining, he is making statement based on his likes and dislike, you know, doing what a Forum is for.
You on the other hand went right against him personnaly, for voicing his opinion, I am sure, you like the Game, which is good for you, but understand, that other people have different opinions, just as you are entitled to your opinion, he is entitled to his.
Voicing Concerns, Opinions, Praise and Critique, is exactly what a Forum is made for, trying to provoke others, intimidate or silence, for simply having a different opinion then you, is wrong, and you know it is.
What do you think a campaign is? Multiple "maps" that have slightly different objectives than the standard you would find in a Skirmish/multiplayer game. Sometimes with extra narrative, cut scenes, or text exposition in between those levels. Instead Conquest does a strategic map, with added choices and upgrades in-between. It's ok not to like it for whatever personal reasons, but it's disingenuous to claim the devs lied on roadmaps, or did a bait and switch.
the dune property is one about storytelling and lore. no matter what the gameplay is taking an era in the chronology and telling a story in it is the only way to move forward.. gameplay doesn't matter.. it doesn't have to be in paul's time.. could be set in the era of god emperor leto.. could be set in the 10,000 years after god emperor leto's death.. could be set in the era between the butlerian jihad and the birth of paul.. but a story makes a campaign. conquest=/=campaign. it's just the other single player mode... with extra steps.
hell.. since the fremen is an actual playable faction FOR ONCE!!! we could see the fremen side of the usual dune RTS scramble for land and resources
4X games were inspired by the dune games.. it would have been nice to see the circle come around with an actual love letter to what came before. instead it was "oh wait we said a campaign... let's just do a conquest mode and call it that"
again... conquest.. is not campaign... it's conquest mode
It's not. If you're looking for something like Command and Conquer, this isn't it. This is MUCH more nuanced. It's a lot of fun.
agreed.. those who say it's anything special didn't play the old ones
Another bit of proof that none of the trolls here either read the books or even played the older games.
