Spice heist.. how does it work?

Hi, I'm probably short of a few caladan sheeps in the noggin, but I can't for the life of me figure out how the Spice heist mission in Conquest is supposed to work?
I'm playing smugglers, and I shot down 4 spice frieghters which I thought I was supposed to do... for some reason that ended in a defeat? I thought I was supposed to do that?
I also constructed my own and sent it to vernius.

So this one is a little tricky if you want to complete all the objectives, the level won't end until either your opponent's partner is defeated, they succeed in sending through enough freighters, or you blow up too many that the deal gets called off.

Before you do this mission, I'd highly recommended you have bonuses that give you starting troops since the game won't give you any normally, and the faster you raid the better. If you have the major bonus that lets you pillage a village before it comes off cooldown, even better.

The key of this level's focus is to keep your enemy's spice production low enough that they don't fill up too quickly, while you steal from villages you can easily access. Every spice you gain, regardless if from your enemies, from Sietches, or from random anomalies all of that counts towards your quota, so be sure to explore and pick up any spice pickups you can to speed things along.

For locking down enemy villages, blow up their refineries once you're done pillaging (can start once the button is pressed, very handy), or if it's too many to handle at once keep the village occupied, with a single unit just don't pillage it and fend off any attempts to repel you by cycling troops as needed.

Be sure to make use of your Smugggler rule of ignoring distance to HQ and only take the ones you need as launch points. The more your foe has to travel to stop you, the better, so prioritise your pillages and occupations with this in mind.

Do note that the secondary objective only completes once enough freighters go through along with your little present, so once you're done heisting, pull back and let them slip the last shipment in and it should complete successfully.

TL DR

Enemy sends spice freighters to enemy base. You need to screw the deal and get your spice.
1) You dont pay spice tribute nor can produce it by harvesting.
2) Position yourself between enemy capitals.
3) Shoot down 2 enemy freighters and raid enemy harvesting production/buy spice at black markets/loot abandoned harvesters
4) When you get 1000 spice, shoot down enemy freighter and send your own istead.
5)When you sent your freighter, keep looting and shooting down enemy freighters. Once you took out 3 or let 5 freighters pass, mission is over. When you shoot down enemy freighter, they dont notice it is missing immediatly, only several in-game days later.
