You'll then see an overlay on the map where you can ride to. Click a valid location and enjoy the wormscooter!
You'll only be able to do short distances at first. Later on you'll increase the range and thumper regeneration through Hegemony bonuses and main base buildings.
It's pretty handy for doing a quick strike on a target across deep desert. All the other factions only can fly between rally points right now, so it really changes how you think about the game. Also... it's great for getting Spice Harvesters into position. Once they deploy, their supply isn't an issue anymore and they are self sufficient. The only trick with Thumpers is that if you're trying to move an extra large force of troops, it can be tricky to fit them all in at once. The Fremen obviously use that better with small strike squads and for surprise flanks than for a frontal assault... which is how it ought to be anyway.
