How do Fremen ride Sandworms in the game?
I'm playing for the first time as the Fremen in a 3 player Skirmish mission and I'm wondering how the mechanics work for them riding sandworms. Obviously I have Thumpers to begin game but don't know exactly how to use a Thumper to call a sandworm and then get my Fremen troops to ride them. Is it one worm per unit or can multiple units ride the same sandworm? I imagine one must be on the sand to use a thumper with a unit or units nearby to hop on the worm when it arrives. I searched the threads for riding sandworms but there was nothing explaining about how it's actually done. Hopefully an experienced player can describe the actual mechanics or calling and riding sandworms. Definitely hate walking them around on foot.

You bunch up a group of dudes on sand, then click the thumper button and then place the cursor on your units.
You'll then see an overlay on the map where you can ride to. Click a valid location and enjoy the wormscooter!

You'll only be able to do short distances at first. Later on you'll increase the range and thumper regeneration through Hegemony bonuses and main base buildings.

@Lima - Thanks for the timely informative answer. I did test out placing a thumper and saw the circle of the sandworm's area for picking up Fremen. Will have to get the hang of this interesting mode of transportation. Nice that it doesn't require an airfield building.

Group up in desert, click the Thumper, deploy so the units you want to move are in the catch zone... then click where you want to go.

It's pretty handy for doing a quick strike on a target across deep desert. All the other factions only can fly between rally points right now, so it really changes how you think about the game. Also... it's great for getting Spice Harvesters into position. Once they deploy, their supply isn't an issue anymore and they are self sufficient. The only trick with Thumpers is that if you're trying to move an extra large force of troops, it can be tricky to fit them all in at once. The Fremen obviously use that better with small strike squads and for surprise flanks than for a frontal assault... which is how it ought to be anyway.

I enjoyed using the sandworm ride to do a pillage order and it was awesome to call a worm for about 8 units to ride to my target destination and then after the pillage was successful back home again. Definitely a fun experience and I make sure to keep making hidden thumpers as well as decoy ones to have worms working for me.
