It's definitely a lot more Dune-inspired and a lot more true to the Dune universe than Dune II used to be.
The first one…

But this Spice Wars is close!
Plot? No. There's no Paul. But who wants to fight a god with plot armour? :)
Are you looking for a Dune 2 RTS experience? If so then this is not the game for you.
What a great way to explain Dune Spice Wars. This game has some stupid ideas that break canon -for example the Fremen have Ornithopters while Duke Leto is still alive. Instead of being "butchered" by the Harkonnen (I remember that from the book) the Fremen are the most powerful warriors in the galaxy.
In all honestly I think I liked this game more about 10 months ago than I do now. That being said - It took a very long time for the Harkonnen military as a faction to not suck in this game.
It does feel like it is slowly moving in the right direction for most things.
There were occasional greasebags who were complaining that Dr. Liet Keynes was turned into a woman in the film and it bled over into the games. Those people are not to be taken seriously.
It doesn't follow the Dune story line, but it definitely feels "Dune-y". More like an alt-universe, where many houses and factions have a giant war over Arrakis all at once.
