Dune: Spice Wars

Dune: Spice Wars

Statistiche:
Game felt complex because the tutorials doesnt cover everything.
Felt like this is a half baked game since there's only 7 tutorials, felt like theres at least 5 more but hasnt yet been made.

Tried the game, finished the tutorials and jumped to single player. I didnt know what i was doing most of the time except the one that I've done the tutorial.

The game felt unfinished. The game itself are already complex and the devs just expecting us to learn all of the mechanics ourself? Seems like a lazy way to just cash grab a strategy games fans. No wonder the game cant hit a 2k daily players i think this is due because most people quits after their first single player match game.

I agree the lack of tutorials both in length and quality is pretty bad. I am surprised they didn't have you play a short mock game to show you how to win through the different ways while also teaching you how to expand and grow your economy.

Problem with games that do this is not everyone has played an rts, or even a video game before and that's why having a good baseline tutorial is good, exactly why an fps tells you how to aim and move.
The tutorials indeed just explain the basics; many other things you have to learn later yourself what is not always simple in a complex game like this. A good example is the assassination process and how to counter or support it.

I know in these days of degeneration and superficiality to demand at least a digitally manual is oftenly already too much but I think in a complex strategy game we still should can expect it... ;-/

No one asked you specifically.
No one appointed you spokesperson for 4X veterans or newbies, pal, yet you act like one anyway.

So please don't ask peope to adhere to rules you yourself flaunt liberally.
That's "flout," not "flaunt.," you grammar newbie. :steammocking:

Funny that you talk about "degeneration" and "superficiality" when that can apply just as much to a player who refuses to actually learn the game by playing it.

Wouldn't that be a vocabulary error?

Also I am messing around do t take it seriously, I don't actually know what it would be.
I think the best advice I can give is to pause the game and think about placement of buildings etc. The game is mainly about building an engine of spice, manpower, authority etc. etc. You can't be good at all of them every single game so you have to explore your surroundings and adapt to the map that has been generated. The best thing about spicewars is what might win you one map certainly won't win you another. Adapt and take your time to learn the synergies.
While obviously it would be handy if they did have all the tutorials available, clearly people have been able to play around with the game and figure it out fine to be able to enjoy it.
I just finished the tutorials and they give a short introduction to the basic gameplay. They are usually done early in game development so don't cover everything. I don't see any difference with other games as tutorials only give the minimum basics knowledge to start playing. It's up to players to find ways to increase knowledge about the finer points so I'm reading the Fandom wiki for this game where I can read something like a manual as it seems like that's one thing I couldn't find. I'll also look at some of the game guides here on Steam for other fine points of play. Of course with the new big update and DLC there's going to be some tips that will be obsolete or need updating.

One of the great aspects of this game is discovering the synergies that exist both within factions and between allies and enemies. No tutorial can fully cover this. Just because the tutorial is not comprehensive does not mean that the game is bad; in fact, it's a lot of fun. Like chess, it takes time to master.

I recommend looking into a few streamers (Turin is a good one), learning the lore if you haven't read the books... and basically just having fun while practicing in skirmish mode.
Don't listen to everyone being a ♥♥♥♥ about it. Some people have a lot of experience with these kinds of games and pick them up quickly, others need more direction to start having fun sooner. I'd say if the ingame tutorials aren't enough, try playing a skirmish against Easy opponents and just kind of try to figure it out. If that's not fun for you, look up a beginner's guide on YouTube for a faction you think is cool-- there are some good ones out there that can help point you to good strategies too. Watching other people play complex games and talk through what they're doing is a great way to learn.
