Think I'd just like Air to Ground and Ground to Air added. I wouldn't want Air to Air Combat.
There's missile defence batteries that can do the G-A already so not much change. But I would like some A-G support.
So having a tank is weirdier then having an air force now?
Worms don't fly, therefore aircraft are safe.
Tanks don't fly and they make loud rhythmic noises, therefore they are supercharged, permanent thumper.
Also, let me remind you that people don't teleport between planets using magic either, there is interstellar travel and planes we had in the past didn't had much in terms of electronics either.
They're not against machines, they're against thinking machines.
And ornithopters, spacecrafts and other air tech is prevalent throughout the series, which is what we're drawing inspiration from.

Couldn't agree more
Ordos heavy carriers with drone swarms that drop poisonous gas clouds that make entire zones uninhabitable. Also orbital nuclear batteries from the Ordos space station like in the books.
Ordos isn't from the books? Was mentioned in the Encylopedia but was never in the novels. Its primarily from Westwood Studios game series. The devs have extensively said Ordos is not going to be in their game. For obvious reasons.
Carrier with drones you might get your wish - have a look at Shiro Games twitter feed.
Ordos was in the books. They are in book 3, page 155 where it states: "And the Ordos dropship descended from the Ordos starbase, firing nuclear warheads by the dozen. Paul Atreides leapt over the first one as it exploded behind him, the nuclear explosion sending him flying 15 metres before he crashed into the sandy sandlands. The second nuke was just about to strike before a giant sandworm leapt up and swallowed it whole. The other 15 nukes exploded all around but missed him. When he got up, Paul stared at the dropship, noticing its distinct Ordos emblem. "The Ordos almost got me again, dangnabbit that was a close one!" Paul exclaimed, as he brushed the sand off his sandclothes.
Frank Herbert's; Dune, Dune Messiah and Children of Dune. So by your account book 3 is Children of Dune. There is no reference to Ordos at all. If you don't believe me / anyone else, read them on Kindle and see if Ordos comes up. It doesn't.
Nice piece of fanfic though...
Thinking machines? Those guys do not even use a calculator so they got mentats for it. What do you talk about with "thinking"?
Realy, I try to stay away but some of you got a huge "bending" things in your mind to make yourself right..
You can't have calculators but you can have an air force nearly with terminator level complex drones..
Thx for butchering again and again.. probably nobody left who cares at this moment..
All the others with your mindset left already for barkhan.
Also, how much high tech do you think is needed to operate a drone?
Did you ever used quad copter? You think some kind of sky-net is needed to operate one?
There were remote controlled "drones" used in World War 2 and you think its something unthinkable for dune, even tho drone tech exists in books? You are so ignorant you don't realize the drones are remote controlled and not self-aware?
You don't understand a ♥♥♥♥. Sorry but I need to be clear about this.
They got interstellar travel ships yes, but do you know how? They got engines and living creatures to guide them.. with very sci-fi and complex ways. Yeah you can have very simple planes or simple dropships to do simple jobs..
But we talk about an airforce with drones.. Drones.. they are not simple planes. They need to calculate everything inside to able to fly even a human controls them somewhere else. And you wanna do this in a universe who forbid calculator level computing.
As a navy officer, I know how much computing you need for even a simple battleship this days and we talk about drone tech.. so you don't understand what Dune lore is or how a drone works or any computing needs for a military unit.. I hope you at least understand this. Because I am tired of people who thinks he got ideas about many things but they don't know a ♥♥♥♥..
You do realize they are remote-controlled?
You do realize there were remote controlled suicide drones in WW2, that is pre-calculator time.
You really do overestimate how much tech is needed to build a drone and you aren't even aware you don't need digital signal to control it.
Plus machines are not banned, never were, the AI and CPUs are.
