4X (abbreviation of Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate) Ok i didn't know, i was thinking that was a measure about the scale of the unity in game or something.

eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, eXterminate. 4X. In modern parlance, this refers to games that feature some kind of civilization/colony building aspect where you go out and bring resources into your economy. Games like Civilization or Stellaris can be considered 4X games, or even RTS games like Command & Conquer, although you would classify them as real time strategy first and 4X second. Supreme Commander, another good example of it. Master of Orion, Age of Empires, the list goes on.
