There was no reason to change Kynes to be a woman in the movie and there is no reason to change for a game. It's insulting to the source material and shows how little the devs actually know about the Dune universe. Women in Dune are extremely powerful and they know how much power and influence they have.

Frank Herbert took certain feminine aspects and pushed them to the extreme in his books making women basically the shadow government of the universe because the Bene Gesserit have their people in every faction. They are actually feared because of how much influence they have and because they can be pretty effective assassins too.

And anyone that doesn't know that should go and read the Dune books or listen to their audio versions. They are great stories with interesting characters. And Liet Kynes was a fine character the way he was and anyone thinking the character needs to be modernized is doing cultural vandalization.

They didn't changed only the genre but also character goal if you read the faq that mentions "building a substenable planet" when in the book is another matter.

The fact is that Fremen in books have ZERO redeeming qualities:
-Violent: they genocide everyone
-Primitive: "Oooga booga we worship bigga worm!"
-Pompous: "Blablabla muh fremen honor"
-Vicious: despite they talk every time about honor....they lack any kind of honor. They will stab in the back even their own Messiah, it is just their nature....Baron Harkonnen is a fair player compared to them
-Dirty: "They NEVER bathe"

-Hypocrites and Blasphemous: this is book Liet Kynes. He doesn't want a "substenable planet". He wants to FLOOD the planet with water killing all the worms (yeah he wants to kill their "gods") and all spice. This is a massive climate change plan.

This game make Fremen at least nature friendly and let them respect their own traditions instead of being just violent hypocrites.

They're replacing men with women in everything. Even trying to turn men INTO women by promoting trans onto young boys at public schools, hoping to get as many of them to self emasculate as possible. It's really bizarre but it's quite evident that man hatred (misandry) is very real in today's world. These people have an agenda to destroy men and masculinity. They hate it. They want matriarchy and female supremacy in society.

And how can we tell they are full of hatred for men? Simple. They argue for inclusion of women into everything dominated by men. Sounds fair so far right? "Equality" and "Inclusion" are two great terms to hide your hatred behind. You can't just say, "We hate you and your kind and want to erase you and your kind" because nobody would stand for it. But when you say, "We are about inclusion and equality" then it sounds fair and it's hard to argue against it but you get the same result - erasing/eradicating your enemy and taking over their space by running them out.

Women outnumber men in college today 6 to 4 or 7 to 3 which is already crazy. But they are getting worthless liberal arts degrees because most employers want STEM degrees and males still dominate in those courses despite already being vastly outnumbered by female students on campus who are dominating all the liberal arts courses. Females are just better than men at reading and writing. Males tend to do better at math and science.

So the feminists argue that women need to be equally represented in STEM course. Yet, they never argue that men need to be equally represented in all the other courses where females vastly outnumber men.

See how that goes?! They want equality where women lag behind men but they want supremacy where they already have equality and then they don't want to let go of supremacy where they already have it. The evidence is very telling. They don't have to say they hate men or masculinity. They just have to hide behind "inclusion" and "equality."

Okay, take Lia Thomas as another example. They are trans. And feminists are all in favor of males converting into females because they hate men and masculinity as I've said.-But they have an exception for males that convert to females. Don't you dare compete against bio females in THEIR spaces or sports! You may sit there and look pretty and be a submissive little sissy girl but don't you dare stand in the way of biological women's advancement towards full blown female supremacy/matriarchy. The double-standards are quite apparent given the evidence.

Okay here's another example. Feminists took over the Boy Scouts several years ago after they had previously argued years before that to let girls be in The Boy Scouts. (But they didn't want boys in the Girls Scouts or argue for that - ahem - equally. See how this goes.)

The Boy Scouts caved and then fast forward a bit more towards today and then the feminists argued that the "Boy" part of the Scouts name was discriminatory because there were a lot of girls in the Boy Scouts now and so they argued to change the name to "The Scouts" - erasing the "Boy' part out of the name. Feminists rejoice. The Boy Scouts was conquered. One more male space down and out.

Then they say, "tee-hee, we're not doing anything wrong. We don't hate men! It's about equality!" (eye roll)

They still have the Girl Scouts though and still call it that. Boys are allowed to be in it and they encourage boys to emasculate themselves and become little girls. Just don't dare compete against them in anything that might take away money or power. You are just allowed to serve as a trophy of another conquered male who has sissified himself for the greater good of a female supremacy society.


Same thing is happening with video games, the film industry, music, and on and on and on. But hey. it's about "inclusion" and "equality"

I don't think it's disrespectful at all - if anything it speaks to Herbert's ability to create such a dynamic character that they're easily recognizable regardless of how they look.
