Agree on everything what u sad. But it definitely isnt a wargame clone and has some world in conflict vibes. Especially infantry look more like infantry and tanks have smoke and etc. I really hope the game comes with a campaign like WIC had. Wargames campaigns dont feel triple A to me
Things that distinguish this from WRD at the first glance are:
1) Ability to customise units and loadouts. Unfortunately you cant do it on the fly, just in the deck building phase, you cant change loadouts of SPGs at field, sad.. Yet it offers huge element of tactical freedom as is, so lets say its a half step forward from WRD.
2) There is no mystical in the middle of nowhere +5 income zones on the map, which you can capture, hold for 5 minutes and own the rest of the game. Enemy team always have a real chance to comeback in the most unexpected fashion. You cant relax untill the end of the battle, this may seems less rewarding or not cybersportive but its certainly makes nore sense and feels more realistic, certainly a step forward from WRD.
3) Thx to realistic maps, there is real tactically important spots like some buildings or crossroads that can serve as objectives even if they are not objectives by design. This may change the tides in my opinion if you and your team want to use actual tactical approach. More realistic again. Step forward from WRD again.
4) Air superiority is a thing here. At least local and temporary, almost impossible to achieve in WRD without pure luck. Here it works. Air wars however are borked by terrible optimisation at this moment so It will take time to study and test this but it looks more lively and realistic already. Not sure since I skipped planes for this moment but it looks like a step ahead as well.
5) Recon looks more viable and capable than in WRD to me, add stealth and smart weaponry on top of it and it can change the tides easily, not just some cheap sabotage or observation. This however maybe a consequence of limited specs available in beta, when cheap and numerous units will arrive into decks it would be more difficult to penetrate the frontline. Recon is recon. Its cool when you can use it properly, but here it can cause more troubles.
I think everything in this game is more realistic and makes more sense than in WRD. Its a better wargame than eugen`s wargame ;)
Unit die fast , longer range and have no unlimited ammo like WiC , also no off map strike , you control your aircraft and arty unit .
Unit pool also limit so you get punish a lot if you being careless with your unit , this is the game in which you can't rebuild your lost unit infinitely , it will eventually run out .
What do you mean? Is there a cap on how many times you can send a incomplete squad to a supply point and recover the whole unit?
In WiC , if your vehicle destroy , you only have to wait till point fill up again to call in another one and you can do it for unlimited time thus you are not punish much for your mistake . Wargame is much more punishing and combine with how fast unit die , it is very challenge and can be quite discouraging .
Im not sure what he is talking about.. Actually in WRD ammount of units in your disposal is limited but you can send all of them to the field if you have enough points and. In this game you just have a cooldwon untill reserves will replenish destroyed unit, so in theory you can have unlimited ammount of any given unit, but you can deploy only limited ammount of them on the field, it depends on your choices in deck building phase.
Broken Arrow does have some similarities to WiC, you feel it was inspired by it.
But Broken Arrow is still a very unique game on its own, its nothing like the Wargame series (luckily).
I say its more similar to WiC but did many things right, that WiC did not.
You haven't played WiC ?
That explains a lot then.
Your imagination is running wild again )) There is nothing "nazi" in this phrase at all without other symbols, gestures and specific context and without my clear confirmation that Im a intending this as something nazistic. It translates as "No, my Ruler!" from GER to RUS in google.
Ok, maybe it wasnt a smart idea this time..
How about you stop poking me and I stop poking you, deal?
How about you stop throwing discriminatory speech around because I am German?
Not the first time you collide with people on here and derail threads.
I collide only with "colliders" like you, I have very strong position supported by a lot of experience and enormous knowledge in lot of areas and wide linguistic capabilites and never step back and no one is going to derail me in the first place. However I always keep my self constructive, in line with topics and rules and laws, I always confirm my mistakes, rarely use emotions as a base for my argumentation and try to not to resort to personalities which my adversaries seems not be capable to do.
At this point you dissapointed and annoyed me too much. Farewell, my friend! From this point you are talking to yourself!
Delusion and narcissism at its finest.
Thanks for the laugh.
