Each nation (currently the U.S. and Russia) is supposed to have five "specializations" on release. You select two specializations, then fill out a deck comprised of six categories (Recon, Infantry, Vechicles, Support, Helicopters, Planes) using units from those two specializations.
The game has deckbuilding - choose your country + 5 specializations.
Deckbuilding is a huge part of the game - you can easily spend hundreds of hours in the deckbuilder if your obessed with refining your decks...
Regards,
Edmon
The system is similar to WarGame and WARNO, but you can customize the units. They'll be more expensive and bite out of your points, but it always depends on what you're playing as - support, assault etc.
