Dust, smoke explosions look much better than some action movie type explosion effect.
The explosions are modelled on real explosions - which tend to mostly be pressure waves and not really have much "Fire" to them. While we're always looking to enhance the look of the game, this art direction is unlikely to change.
its safe to say that EVERYTHNG looks very bad on low settings ))
I enjoy when explosions in games do look like in real life )) Who not?
In real life, an explosion causes instant very short fire and then white or light gray smoke. The vehicle that was hit then starts burning and the smoke turns black. If the hit place is ground or soil, white or light brown smoke will come out. You can see it on YouTube from drone footage from the Ukraine-Russia war.
