Broken Arrow

broken arrow's story campaign
i wonder what broken arrow's story campaign will be based off of? personally i would like them to draw primary inspiration from World in Conflict as well as Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising and The War in Ukraine as secondary inspiration sources. now i know the Ukraine war is a..."touchy" subject but devs really should "get out of the comfort zone" and delve into the unknown just like how Quentin Tarantino does in the realms of film.

I agree. This would be a burner and if media would catch attention, this would just give them more publicity.

I think the script for Broken Arrow was thought out before the war started in Ukraine.

since the game is still "technically under development" it would still not be too late to incorporate what i said above into broken arrow's story

how i imagine it wud go is this:
putler invades ukraine as in the OTL
however ukraine is caught off guard and is unable to form a stiff defense unlike in the OTL
ukraine is taken over by russia
finland and sweden join nato as a result of ukraine like in the OTL
putler threatens to invade poland if finland and sweden dont change their mind (both say no)
putler invades poland and nato article 5 is activated
broken arrow game begins!

Our current datapoint is that the US drops into Baltyisk (Kaliningrad's naval base) by boat. This... just doesn't feel like something one would do if they had Poland and the Tribaltics as a springboard already awash with troops post-2014. Same reason why the Russian amphibious landing in Odessa last year didn't seem to materialize despite the requisite troops being at sea - all else being equal, one would rather drive overland.

Im sure there will be mods for other nations regardless.

Before the war in Ukraine, most analysts predicted that the most likely scenario that caused war between NATO and the Russian Federation was a Russian invasion of the Baltic states. While lots of former Warsaw Pact countries have joined NATO, the Baltic States are the only former members of the USSR to have joined NATO and this remains a bitter reminder of Russia's inadequacy. So my guess is that the campaign will have a much-stronger-than-in-reality Russia that invades the Baltic states.

The real problem is getting the US to fight Russia directly. And no, Article 5 far from guarantees it - its terms are pretty stretchable.
The Parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America shall be considered an attack against them all and consequently they agree that, if such an armed attack occurs, each of them, in exercise of the right of individual or collective self-defence recognised by Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the Party or Parties so attacked by taking forthwith, individually and in concert with the other Parties, such action as it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain the security of the North Atlantic area.

oh i also forgot to add the fact that china "joins in" on the fun much like in World in Conflict. here's hoping we fight as them or against them in the campaign unlike in WiC where they are only mentioned.

I would like the try of in-game cutscenes, but that needs modeling+animations and someone to craft cutscenes so they look at least presentable.

And here is "how i imagine it wud go ":
demented pedo giving his usual abracadabra speech in front of the white house and falling asleep half way through taken to the nearest hospital never to be seen again
his druglord pedo son takes over for 5 minutes and starts invasion of russia and china at the same time cause you know... crack
after initial heavy losses on all sides invasion fails cause us and nato cant handle modern conventional warfare
snake island (england) gets nuked and the "big game" ends for good
poles coming to their senses and pulling off their army from russkies borders
swamp bois canceling their nato membership figuring its cheaper to keep drinking and be alive
urkaine.... what
sweden..... nobody cares about that social experiment
real american elites come to power and restore order and culture on their own soil
new potsdam or yalta or whatever and world is split to 3 spheres of influence
at the end - our planet is a better place

As for the game - I believe in devs imagination and craftmanship.
It will be a blast.
