Broken Arrow demo is back on Steam!
By popular demand, the Broken Arrow demo is back on Steam!

As one of the most downloaded demos in the Steam Next Fest, we were really happy to see so many of you try and play the demo. Unfortunately some of you were not able to play it during that week and we received so many requests to make it available again.
From today until March 20 the demo can once again be downloaded and played. Remember, you will be able to play it until Monday March 20 at 4 pm BST.

You can do so simply by visiting the Broken Arrow steam page and clicking on the Download demo green button.

What it contains

It is the same demo that was released a few weeks ago during the Steam Next Fest.
In the single mission included in the demo you will be tasked to infiltrate a platoon of U.S. Marines Force Recon to destroy critical coastal defenses on the Baltic shore.

Clearing the sky of enemy planes, and escorting their landing craft and hovercraft to the shore, waves of powerful M1A1 Abrams and armored vehicles can be unleashed to dominate the battlefield. The mission will see American troops fight block for block in intense close-quarter infantry battles against airdropped enemy paratroopers. Forces can be resupplied with heavy-lift helicopters from a carrier group offshore. Prospective commanders need to take care and repel the assault of a full tank company with the combined arms help of helicopters and planes.

A number of major features are not yet in the current build. You cannot presently play as Russia, there is no Editor, there is a very limited selection of available troops, no customisation of units or deck building.

In addition, there are some features which are not final:
- Optimisation is far from complete
- Not all visuals and audio effects are final
- Unit balances will be refined as the game enters beta

We addressed all the feedback we received during the Steam Next Fest in this post.

The team is hard at work on the game, we expect to be back with news soon, so please stay tuned and have fun with the demo.

Yay nice! Last Time I had just finished downloading when the demo timeframe closed.
Played a bit today and it feels great apart from performance (which is already mentioned to be adressed) and unloading of units being a bit tricky/unreliable at times.
Great work! Keep it up! Will be a must-buy for me!
:'-( I'd have loved to save my progress until the landing party arrived...
While playing, I was constantly thinking why I still can recover soldiers in unit via supply spot. Wouldnt be much more fun to be able just re-arm / repair and have to bring fresh soldiers in order to replace fallen buddies in separate helicopter? That would balance endless strenghtening of the vital strongpoint just stockpiling the supplies just behind them and brings another realistic fun factor in the game... nobody's doing it like this today.

edit. it was a bit annoying that I had to play full mission in one run and couldn't do save & exit.

Thats why you would always destroy logistical vehicles from the enemy.

Seems pretty realistic to me. In real life, units also get " fresh meat " .

They do, but only when they are relieved in position and returned back to FOB for restoring combat efectiveness. Very rarely it happens during the (short) operation while still fighting. They would be reinforced by unit dedicated as reserve or in some specific type of mission rescued by QRF. Everything else would be more or less exception, not some "rule."

I agree that logistics is the priority target. Therefore I also do miss the fuel in the game system and ability to ground the helicopter while I am holding them as reserve in the back. Otherwise I do love the game, it brings a lot new to the bussiness. Cant wait for building my decks.

Depends, in general the goal of logistics is to maintain squad, company ,division strength and so on.

I think the logistics in this game are simply there for comfort. Lets see how they do this in multiplayer. Which hopefully consists of WiC like matches, not so much like wargame.

I really enjoyed this demo and I'll probably buy the full game when it comes out... I do agree with the comments of having to do the whole mission in one go (no saves).

I have a couple of suggestions for the devs.

1) When you "group" a unit (Ctrl+X), it would be helpful if you could see that number "on" or above the units instead of on the right side of the screen.
2) When you have issued the "hold fire" order, the "button" should reflect the active order so there is no doubt what order is currently active.

For example if I issue a sniper/ recon unit a "hold fire/ fire only i self defence" order (The latter I loved by the way because they diden't just die but put put up a fight when discovered.) and left the unit to move other units/call fire ect. and returned to the unit, I often became unsure if they still were on "hold fire".

And I really liked the "supply system". Please keep that :-)

super excited for this game.. looks extremely well done. Thoroughly enjoyed the demo... W for the developers on this one.
Hi, there anyway to download the demo after the last date ? I'm frustrated to have missed it
Great game! I love the game its amazing and i'm exited for its release or at least the demo to come back out
How about releasing a permanent demo with a skirmish mode function ?!
At least this would allow is to truly test all the weapons and so on.

I just heard about this game, looks like an old game me and my brother used to play multiplayer called world in conflict. Hoping to see the demo again, wish I had known it was releasing because I definitely would have downloaded it.
