Gorecrusher leaves while fighting

I know Gorecrusher now has a patrol. But when fighting him in the cave it was all good and suddenly he dropped the aggor and ran to the bottom of cave entrance. He was like 10% left. I was near the cave end and it might register as out of range as per his usual patrol timetable and location. But he wasn't on patrol and in a fight for a while! Other patrol bosses don't just drop aggro and run for their patrol, no matter how long you are fighting them! While in a fight in the cave gorecrusher should not be able to just leave and go for a walk (ridiculous!)
