Holy radiation even after drinking potion

I drank the holy resist potion and went to fight raziel, it was working and i didnt receive any holy radiation damage, i ended up dying and when i came back it was damaging me. I dyed again and this time went and used another potion and it stopped damaging me again. It says lasts after death but not against the holy radiation.
