Suggestion/bug: Make stairs count as floors

I am trying to make a circular staircase in my mansion in a 3x3 area. But I can't place the second stair up to the third floor as : get the error: "Cannot break path to ground." And after some trial and error I found out placing the stairs makes the middle ground piece unreachable.

Can we make it so that the stairs count as floors? Or does anyone else have a work around.

It's weird because stairs DO count as floor tiles for the purposes of dismantling and replacing them, because walls and pillars in this game are NOT allowed to exist without being connected to a floor tile.

I've discovered that this was the seemingly janky reason why I wasn't able to disassemble some of the stairs in my primary castle, because it would have "orphaned" some walls on the floor above that were currently only being anchored by the staircase itself.
