Adjusting sundamagemodifier in the directory

So we made a private server to enjoy the games royalties on but we've come up to an issue where if you haven't modified a setting before it began it wont show up in directory. this wasnt the issue as to adjusting day time hours was something we could sort out after making another server and checking its directory. however if you decide to applify the sun in a server that didnt previously have said setting adjusted, youll get a visual bug to the sun taking affect visually but still being impaired when it came to the damage that you where supposed to receive. only after adjusting it did we come to find out that the sun should directly hurt you after a second at sun damage modifier is set to 5 but if you hadn't set it during server creation the damage stil takes a normal duration of time to notice you before the burn applies, leaving a glaring yellow screen for 7 seconds before any damage begins.
