Durability is not really fitting here
So overall I like the game's systems but durability is something that feels off here.

I do like durability mechanics when they work, I like it in Dark Souls 2, Minecraft and Dungeons and Dragon's Online.

But all of those games have it as a minor maintenance work and two of them have mechanics that feed into avoiding durability loss in combat or environmental hazards.

In V Rising crafting gear is both slow and has a huge impact on your overall strength.
While having a gear piece break in action is mostly due to overlooking the system, the consequence of having an item broken is huge.

When you return to your base you already have a lot of things to do as "chores", like adding resources to refinement, crafting new consumables, inventory management etc.

And since your power is automatically tied to equipped weaponry, you need to have either a secondary or a duplicate weapon of your highest material rank since an item breaking just demolishes your own power level.

I don't really know how important these recourse dumps are in these multiplayer survival games, but at least solo play in V Rising the durability system just adds a lot of annoyance to keep track of while not offering really any interesting risk to reward gameplay compared to how much the constant repair needs add to the list of "to do" before you can go back to exploring and hunting even if you already did your resource gathering loop before it.

For solo play you can edit it to your liking!

Go to: C:\Users\[USER_NAME_HERE]\AppData\LocalLow\Stunlock Studios\VRising\Saves\v1
-> find your world -> open: ServerGameSettings.json (in notepad)

add the lines:

"DurabilityDrainModifier": 0.0,"
"Death_DurabilityFactorLoss": 0.0,
"Death_DurabilityLossFactorAsResources": 0.0,

To disable durability, or a slightly higher number if you just want to tweak it down.

Bonus: add the line "TeleportBoundItems": false,

this lets you teleport with items

I did not know we could tweak solo play servers for that and ill try that as well.

Bit too many chores ingame and I still havent even build a throne at 5+ hours in.
