Exit game crash

Sometimes, when i save and exit the game and then when i clicked "exit to desktop" the game crashes and i cant close out of anything once on the main menu.

Has anyone else had this issue? any tips for this? i have tried re validating the integrity of the files, trick.

If this issue has been discussed else where, please link me to it :)

I have the same issue. I press Exit in the main menu after playing some time and the game freezes. The CPU load rises and my whole PC freezes, even audio begins to stutter. I have this issue every time I close the game for the last 3-4 days (playing for 2-3 weeks now)

its because the game leaks. Never fixed since over 2 years ago.

If it has leaked a little bit, no problem. If it has leaked alot, it will become unresponsive when you exit.

My work around seems to be:

exit to main menu, open options, go back to main menu and exit to desktop :D
