Progression change?

I remember playing the game a while back and loving it, however at a certain point not too far into progression you have to grind for those research pages in order to continue with your progression and was really turned off by this as how much time it took doing just that. Have they changed this at all?

One boss offerd the paper press so you could just make the paper or scrolls

You can just buy weapons and floors recipes you want from merchants around the map with coins. The prices aren't that high so they are pretty affordable.

Oh, so they made that a boss drop? I remember having to farm paper from bandit camps to finally unlock that damn Paper Press. Moving the unlock to a boss drop was a pretty popular suggestion iirc :D

For how important the Paper Press is I was baffled that it was a research unlock. Last server I was on I had all tier 1 and almost all tier 2 techs before it dropped.

That boss was there since the beginning u just got to keep doing them
