Roaming bosses
Hello,
Just wondering how did those of you vets of the game, deal with the roaming bosses like Christina when you were new to the game? I also ask because I find that whole mechanic annoying as it often leads, to a one v 10+ situation and once a darn vamp hunter joined in

track its blood and avoid the v hunters and snack them when you feel ready for them (equipment wise)

Lure them off the road or follow them to a place where you can.

Or clean patrols ahead.

I feel that wandering bosses are easier than most, because you have a lot more options to tackle them. For example, you can wait until Meredith and Kriig are close to each other in the Haunted Iron Mines, and lure them to each other so they fight. Another thing I like to do with wandering bosses is kite them around static land objects like big rocks or such. I trivialize the Christina, Vincent, and Domina fights this way amongst others. Breaking line of sight will block their projectiles, and will force them to move to sight you again, you can take potshot and immediately break los again, will also help you deal with any adds that might enter the fight with xbow Q and your spells.

Bosses that don't wander usually have the conditions you fight them very predetermined, and have little opportunities to be cheesed with LoS, forcing you to really learn them. That's not inherently a bad thing, but it does make them more difficult.

There are times where a wandering boss will roam into you at an inopportune moment, and that's fine, have to learn to withdraw and try again when you see a fight is turning against you, enemies don't pursue very far, but V Blood health will regen when you do that.

Kriig was no problem took him down first try, Christina is proving to be a bit more troublesome due to the roaming mechanic. I find the bosses with static positions easier to deal with, even if they've annoying mechanics less to focus on and all

Will try that, although to be honest I'm too impatient to clear all possible patrols

Wandering bosses have their pros and cons when dealing with them. Some benefits means you can kinda wait til they're in a better spot for you to deal with them than other bosses.
The downsides is that obviously some wanderers can overlap with each other and lead to multiple V Boss fights in 1.

I just kinda took what I could headon though. Chances are most of the bosses you fight have summoning mechs anyway, like Christina. So if you know how to dodge her abilities, you can pretty well take out any straggling minions and patrols that wander too close during the fight while dodging the boss mechs.

If you don't mind melee this might be a good time to bust out the Greatsword if you got it from Tristan. I was able to take down Christina pretty easy because of the mobility of an Iron Greatsword combines with the Chaos dash spell you get from Clive. The Aftershock spell from the Miner boss back in the Copper mines helps alot too for lining up minions and Christina.

it's something manageable for most times, Christina is one of those cases where there are patrols with some enemies like the Archers with fire arrows, who can just ♥♥♥♥ right off.. but if you have Jade join in at that point?.. You might as well just leave the spot and come back later, you will skip a guaranteed death.

I don't think OP is looking for solutions, cause I gave them the solution to beat Christina, and they went on to say Christina is problematic without having acknowledged the solution I gave or having tried it. This is like the fourth time this happens since OP came on the forums.

I don't think they're looking to resolve these situations, I feel they're trying to get validation in their positions.

Most roamers have a 'home' where the other roamers don't go. Christina for example is in the abbey above where Beatrice roams. Vincent is in that fort north of the haunted iron mine. etc and so forth. Those locations are typically the best place to fight these v blood IF you've cleared the mobs before hand. (killing the 3-4 healers in Christina's abbey is essential or none of them ever die)

Dude, why are you looking to start unnecessary bs? Also, you're the one who seems to be seeking validation. You gave no advice, you just stated the obvious and I don't need to be told to try again, I'd have done that anyway. Do us both a favor and simply ignore any future posts of mine

Thanks for the advice and contrary to what someone who loves jumping to conclusions may say, I'm always open to advice provided you aren't just repeating the obvious and no I don't have the great sword yet

Did not know that

For Christina in particular: two things helped me

1) Her first two guards don't respawn when she resets. You can focus them down, reset the boss, heal any damage you took, then engage the boss again minus the first two guards (though she will spawn more as her health decreases)

2) I engaged her at a place that had a small opening to a forest area and baited her through. That way I never had to worry about patrols coming to assist her nor did I have to worry about her resetting. As an AOE healer boss, additional enemies stack the difficulty a lot more than other roaming bosses. Depending upon how close it is to daytime, don't be afraid to follow the roaming boss until you find an ideal location to start the fight. Rat form can obviously help a lot with that.
