Ward of the Damned + Sacriligious Eye interaction

So the tooltip states "Melee attackers take XX% damage when striking the barrier" - Couple questions...

1) Is this "Melee" attackers solely or ANY melee attack made against the Ward?
2) Does this include V Carriers?
3) Is it a percentage of their attack or whatever stats the Ward uses to determine damage? (Like 34% of your spell power or something)
