So, am I the only one who feels the -last weapon you get- is weak AF?
I'm avoiding spoilers in the title but if you read the description it's up to you at this point;

I feel like the Whip is extremely weak. Mid range(This one is understandable), but attacks leave you stuck in place like it's a crossbow.
The damage of the attacks is inefficient given that it works like this; It's a 3-attack combo with the range of the Double pistols, but with less attack speed and leaving your stuck like you're using one of the higher attack range weapons. And let's not forget, because of the animation that leaves you stuck, the attack is delayed.

Not only this, but the skills of the weapon don't benefit or even stick with the theme of the whip too much.
-Jump with an AoE that deals just 100% dmg and applies a 1.5 fading snare...Scythe does the same even if it doesn't make me dash, with 160% damage, and a 2.5 fading snare. The Scythe Q also has a shorter cooldown.
-E is just a normal attack with 40 extra damage that entangles, and it's also on a 10 second cooldown. This ability would have been cool if it had the range of a crossbow bolt, and dragged an enemy to the "perfect auto" range before entangling(Or ensnaring). You get this weapon from Domina, and this is an attack she has, so...Where did we go wrong with this? The heck?

And considering we have a Castlevania crossover in the game, and the whip was added with this expansion, wouldn't it be cooler if the whip had one of the abilities based on the vampire Killer's Unholy-combusting magic, but corrupted for vampires? It would be FAR cooler if the Q or the E attack, was a whip attack that makes an explosion on the area of impact if it hits something, and if it kills them they explode in a bigger area...Or whatever.

So many interesting places they could have gone to, and they chose a nerfed crossbow.-Scythe.

this isnt a pvp game while it does have pvp its isnt its focus this is very much a pve focused game more so with 1.0

Ah yes, the PvE game developed by a PvP company, the same company who did Battlerite and bloodline champions and used it mechanincs to make V-Rising.

Whip and Greatsword are my favourite weapons, it sucks to stay close to the boss at higher levels and not all attacks can be countered, currently I'm playing with Greatsword + Blood magic but I was using whip + summons before, I have one blood whip that I need to try.

In the end it's a matter of preference I guess, my friend for example loathle the whip lol.

I did not know about the Morningstar.

I do have to admit the burn damage could bring it to a decent level specially since the burn is on the AoE.

I need to try it out more, but I still feel like there's some better alternatives to the whip. Making it's range variable(You can do the AoE in melee) would make it more fun to use, to be honest.
Also, if the legendary modifier of said weapon is what makes the weapon good, maybe it does need a rework still, no weapon should go from "meh" to "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" just because of a modifier.

PS: To the people saying "skill issue"...What are you on about? I'm playing on brutal and I'm having no big problems with bosses, in a PvP server. A skill issue is the least of my problems, it's just that not everyone likes to play the same weapons the same way, and think the same. Not everyone is an NPC just because you are.

This is 100% a PVP game. The studio made it to be PVP. Your bases are designed to be raided in PVP. The game is balanced around PVP. If you don't like that FACT then you can sit in your castle alone I guess or play something else but it doesn't change the fact.

OK well we are talking about PVE right now so do you have anything to contribute to THAT conversation? Glad you like PVP and sure I'll even agree this game is PVP I don't care did you come here to just say some dumb stuff or maybe offer some helpful input?

If its 100% PVP then why do we have so many options for decoration when the most effective raid proof designs discourage making pretty castles? Why have a nice open courtyard with trees and benches, a hedge maze, or any other number of large rooms and open spaces full of decoration when filling your entire first floor with honeycomb doors is most effective?

I'm using Caos right now, the lv4 stones makes all the difference, as you get healed when the enemy are burned, it's super strong, specially with "scholar" blood type (dunno how it are called in english).
But the ultimates are all garbage, since I'm playing on my server I have access to the unique pendants.
