Here's a big tip for you: Vendors, Chests, and enemies drop the materials you need for crafting. You don't have to rely on beating the bosses to get those Radium Alloys, Pristine Leathers, etc. Just farm the right places such as Gloomrot and the Cursed forest. Loot all the cabinets, etc etc, and BUY the items from the vendors in Silverlight Hills.
If you spend a bit of time doing this you'll be around the same gear level for every boss in act 3. Don't forget Brute blood can also increase your gear level by 1 if that's something you're worried about. I was gear level 67 when I beat Cyril.
on brutal all v bloods gain 3 gear levels. this means you often cannot overgear them at all.
the act 3 has less total bosses than act 1 and 2.
the acts arent really... acts to begin with. just progression steps.
the smith and the mech dude are the only really required bosses for this.
you can skip the queen and the engenier by grinding the materials in silverlight.
you need silver ore anyway to make the weapons you unlock from the cursed smith boss. silver ore is only found in silverlight hills to begin with.
and level 65+ you can also fight the baron to unlock the amulet already but it still needs darksilver ingots anyway. the baron is silly easy with pistols and reaper. spam reaper E on him when he is not moveing and pistol the barrels that come for you in a line.
the upgrade table is gloomroot north. you need the new base weapons from the smith anyway to make use of that table. same for the dawn armor set. so even if you got the tier 3 research table you wouldnt be able to make any of the gear without beating smith and mech dude first to begin with.
act 4 is the worst. youre just sitting there grinding shards to get your level 30 weapons. totally stupid design given you can only grind shards once per hour on regular settings. besides that there is no more upgrades in act 4. the final armor set is unlocked so late its not helpful at all for anything anymore and they split it amoung the final 4 bosses for no good reason instead of makeing the final bosses drop level 30 legendarys instead to encourage farming them more than once.
You can't outgear dracula, you can outgear everyone else.
How? How did you craft better Armor, Jewels, and Weapons if you can only do that AFTER beating up the last Act III Boss? If you beat up the last Act III boss this means you are in Act IV, not in Act III anymore. You also didn't learn the recipes since you can only unlock recipes from the Athenaeum, but this you only unlock at Act IV, so how did you reached GS 67 during Act III?
Edit: By saying "last Act III Boss" I mean Cyril, he's the one that unlocks the Anvil allowing us to craft better Weapons, which is the first gear upgrade in Act III. This, literally, means we only increase our GS at the start of Act IV, so we start Act III the same way we leave Act II, but we leave Act III the same way we start Act III, this means Act III didn't increase our GS at any point.
Right now I'm 61 and I don't see how to increase my GS before beating Cyril, which means I finish Act II at 61, and I'll end Act III at 61.
You both missed completely the point. This isn't about the Act itself, it's about GS progression. Acts are there to follow a progression just to tell the player "Hey, you are in the tutorial area.", "Now you are facing stronger foes.", "Now you are facing even stronger foes.", "Hey, you reached the end-game, last push to kill them all." but you don't necessarily needs to follow the boss order, neither need to beat the boss, the thread isn't about the Act itself. You should re-read the thread and think about it a little more.
That's exactly what I'm talking about, it seems Act III shouldn't exist or should be part of Act II and Act IV? Or it seems the developers missed content between Act II and Act IV, made Act III without the content, and now we feel like we are missing content when playing Act III.
Playing with friends gives you more GS? I didn't know that, I'm playing solo. Anyways, it seems single-player the best you can do is to start Act III at 62 and end Act III at 62, right?
I'm playing on a server with friends but I'm further than they are. I just entered act 3 at GS 61. And I don't have the dawnthorn armor lvl 6 set yet. I'm still rocking the upgraded lvl 5 and 2 ancestral blue weapons. So I have to assume the dawnthorn will have me higher than 62.
I thought Dawnthorn was a cosmetic gear set, not +GS.
I take back everything that I said, you do get more GS during Act III.
And I totally disagree about "meaningless" acts: if they are called "acts" and using same pattern twice (1&2), they must be at least consistent progression & content wise in 3&4.
