The way the game handles shadow is wild. Anything that casts a shadow can be hidden behind. Ever fight a boss long enough for day to break? Changes your whole plan.
Play in Swedish Winter mode if you hate it so much. Enjoy 23 hours of darkness!
The sun is an excellent mechanic.. it 100% adds spice tot he game.
Also, you can get better cloaks and potions to increase your resistance to make it slightly less punishing.
Either way It's a great feature and if you don't like it then like you said just remove it and play on easy mode.
Also fighting while cornered in shadows forces to "get better"....I guess I dunno.
Every other time, sunlight is an excellent addition. You have to actively think about where you're moving to, and if you're in combat, you have to really think about stuff, like combining dodging an attack with moving into shadow. There's also nothing quite like that level of urgency you get fighting a V Blood only for it to turn into day time near the end of the fight, and now you're having to not only dodge the enemy but the sun.
