Best gem spell combos for pve?
Hey guys, I was wondering if there is interesting gem/spell combination that you find really fun/effective for brutal pve.

I got a gem for mosquitos that heals and shields, and I dunno I was like...hmmm does this have a trolling potential or not, I tried it a bit..I just dunno what's optimal lol, I have been mostly trolling with skeletons most of the game tbh xD, it's working for me, but I wanted to explore the other spells. I can craft tier 3 gems now...but I just dunno what to go for really.

I really like the scholar blood the most, and was wondering what spells people use if they play around that, or any blood really is cool.

I really wanted to play around illusions spell combinations for a lot of cd reduction...but I just dunno that school is...weird to me...like the whole wisps...skill shots...shield...like...how does it come together? is it supposed to?

If you can slide in what weapons do you use with your spell combo would be nice! thanks!

Typically, an Endbringers legendary pistol, Veil of Chaos for double jump, and Death Knight/Corrupted Skull summoning build is my ranged preference. T5 jewels from General Valencia the Depraved will help you immensely, as will a DFacula/Maleficer Scholar set to get spell leech and 100% scholar blood/Rogue for movement utility.

Whereas my friend's Melee build uses a Whip= though Sword until Simon Belmont is defeated in each playthrough. Veil of Chaos, Aftershock/Cyclone, or Power Surge for Boosted attacks and boosted damage to resource nodes to farm. Typically with a 100 percent Brute or Warrior. They seem to enjoy a Dracula's dread plate upgrade variant for damage reduction as well.

In addition, add any stacking potions/brews for extra combat effectiveness. Vampiric Brew adds a wonderful additional spell leech for my attacks as an example.

Hope it helps!

Ward of the Damned has some great options, including one that heals you for every projectile blocked. Whenever bosses throw out a spray of attacks it is just free healing. It'll likely generate several skeletons at the same time, possibly mages with certain passives.

If Illusion magic your thing the Spectral Wolf has a version where it heals you after striking enemies(not to be confused with the effect that spawns a Wisp that has to be chased to receive healing). This can provide decent sustain, even in boss fights for those that only generate 1-2 add monsters at a time.
