Community Hunt: Experiencing crashes after patches/updates?

Dear vampires,

It has come to our attention that some players are experiencing frequent crashes around hotfixes. The reason for these crashes appears to be that specific files are inadvertently removed in the patching process, causing the game to crash when it tries to load an asset that doesn’t exist.

If you are experiencing this issue after a hotfix, please answer the questions below:

• Were you in-game when the hotfix went live?
  
• Are you using any mods?

We will do our best to track down the cause of this issue as soon as possible. In the meantime, this issue can be fixed by verifying the integrity of the game files. This can be done via the following steps:

1. Right-click V Rising in your library and select Properties
   
2. In the Installed Files tab, press the ‘Verify integrity of files’ button
   
3. Steam will now ensure no files are missing

salut. je viens d'acheter v rising sur eneba et j'ai un compte steam et j'ai installer le jeu, le jeu se lance et lors de la connection serveur ou chargement du jeu. le jeu se bloque et me dit que le serveur n'est pas connecter. a l'aide je veux jouer

Hello, I cant run game on free weekand, just have black screen

I wanted to try out the free play weekend to see if I like the game, but I can't get in at all. The game kept getting stuck every time I tried to create a game, so I tried verifying the game files. Steam said I was missing 15 files, and that they would be downloaded.
Unfortunately, the missing files wouldn't download; on my Downloads page, V Rising had red text to it saying "Corrupt Disc." So I uninstalled the game, then tried re-installing it. Now the download keeps stopping itself and the red text has changed to "Missing Downloaded Files." On my Library page, V Rising has a "download failed" message.
My internet is fine, and I'm connected; I can launch other games just fine. It's only V Rising that's messed up.
To answer the questions: no, I was not in-game when the hotfix went live, and no, I'm not using mods.

Ive been trying to play the game, but it always stays in the composing shaders screen and i cant get through that. anyone else with this issue and how do you fix it? Ive already tried to re install the game and also verifid that the cache data is complete.

After launch it's just a black screen and the message Hold to skip. There is sound and the ability to control the mouse, but nothing more. A year has passed since the last launch. Checking files didn't help

Hello there,

for some weeks now, V Rising always seems to crash my steam or something related with my windows. Every time I close V Rising, it crashes everything. My Steam seems to stop working, which unables me to do anything, because my windows is somehow crashed as well.

I cant do anything, Task Manager is not working, nor can i do anything else, not even a shut down works, because windows does not response. The only option i have is to force shut down my pc, which is not healthy at all.

Tried fixing files, reinstall V rising and Steam but nothing works so far

Crashing after this morning's patch. No mods, not in game when it installed. Have not verified yet, will do so now

EDIT - Validation worked, it was missing a single file that was 1.4MB in size

Fair bit of crashing after the latest patch. No mods installed. Crashing on loading game solved by validating files but had crashes while playing later. Multiplayer with one other person.

I am also having crashes during the gameplay after the patches. I hadn't played for a long while and returned for the castlevania content and a friend wanting to return but it makes the game crash in a way i cant even close it without restarting the pc. Doesnt allow me to access any other tab.
I had just installed the game without any server running at ready.

solo pve doesn't work at all

No mods. I doesn't crash, so much as it just locks up and I cannot click on anything and cannot tab out. The only way to get my computer back is to completely log out and log back in as that will kill the process. This happens when I'm in the game (solo, personal server) and I click on "Save and Exit" and then I click on "Exit" on the main screen. If it's any help, the mouse stays the same, as in the mouse doesn't revert back to the Windows mouse unless I'm at the tab screen trying to tab out or in the "control+alt+delete" screen.

is there any reason as to why months later i am still not able to plat this game, when i start it I'm stuck at what appears to be two agreement screens stacked on top of each other, i am not able to click anything, i have tried deleting all the files, I tried disconnecting keyboard and controller to no avail. evident by how long this has been going on i can assume this game is dead ?
