And you also have to consider what combos can be used. Use multiple spells and melee attacks all at once. One spell might benefit you by knocking back an enemy and stunning them, while you can use another spell or attack. Experiment and play around with each spell and weapon. And get used to using more than one spell while melee attacking.
There are also potions and blood you can drink to increase spell damage. Scholar blood supports spells. And the better the quality of the blood you drink, the more the effects are increased.
Example ( Scholar Blood ) :
1% Blood Quality => 10% Increased Spell Power
30% Blood Quality => 13% Increased Spell Power
50% Blood Quality => 15% Increased Spell Power
99% Blood Quality => 20% Increased Spell Power
100% Blood Quality => 25% Increased Spell Power (final bonus - effect boosted by 25%)

Hopefully we’ll get some balance with the next patch ( I dream for melee dmg lowered unless the right blood is used, making rogue blood the main dps choice ).
