Possibly you are not yet used to the blood system coming from other survival games with a, for better or worse, simpler set of survival parameters (hunger, thirst, fatigue, etc.). It's certainly not something I've seen in most other vampire games but I think it works. In the mid and late game it drives a sort of pokemon collecting side-game where you're trying to fill your prison with 100% quality juice bags for bottling and filling your "wine" cellar.
But, if they changed the Blood system, I would want to see better buffs from the blood you have, because I hardly tell the difference between Brute, Warrior or Rogue blood buffs.
As with all your other problems with this game, you can resolve this by going into advanced settings. Do you know how to do that?
also it is a survival game, so you have to feel fragile at some parts
Game is already hard enough as it is, really dont need more elments to make it unplayable for the majority of players.
You can literally just turn this off lol.. it's already an option in the game,
What you're describing is more or less what relic weapons do in v rizzing. Each has an elemental effect that synergizes with the elements available to you in the spellbook. I.e. blood, chaos, illusion, unholy, frost, etc.
I've never seen a vampire starve to death in any sort of medium, including movies. They can get super thirsty, as can humans do without water. And both humans and vampires would do anything for a drink, including kill, so there's that.
Honestly, if you're looking for a challenge in being a vampire, I believe the options in-game can tackle that...or get certain mods.
- Server/Local game modifiers exist to adjust Blood Drain as numerous players have already pointed out above my comment.
- Whilst in vanilla your stats are very dependent upon the type or blood in [x] quality consumed this is where one might enjoy the Bloodcraft RPG mod which truly makes Blood viable as a Synergy (especially if you decide upon Hard vs Soft Synergies in one’s settings). In either case one will be dependent upon beneficial blood buffs intrinsic to the type of Vampire you’re interested in playing (Classes), consuming frailed truly does weaken you and will feel like a lead rake as well other blood types will feel obstructive rather than beneficial no matter how you try to make them work.
- This is precisely why I only consume the Blood Merlot variant; I agree with this position and do wish there was a bit more dynamic here rather than just the formality of staving off starvation/death.
- it certainly already does this… That is until it runs out or you happen to consume a Tier 2 BloodSoul Gate bosses from rift events & replenish it.
- Certainly, a mechanic that is untouched in base game V Rising & via mods with the exception of modded systems which include Mastery decay for not feeding upon a specific blood-type this was a feature of the now defunct RPG mods (Shou) which I believe to some extent was carried over by XPRising (Don’t quote me I don’t use said mod), however I think you’re referring to something akin to reverse progression for over-consumption which isn’t covered by any modification plugin at present capacity.
-As for additional suggestions to blood consumption and their effects on one’s player character sadly this game is not a genuine article Vampire RPG, there are mods such as Bloodcraft & XPRising which can convert the base game into a more fleshed out experience not simply from the perspective of enhanced combat either, whilst I stress to only playing modded V Rising at present & love the enhanced experience provided…
Nonetheless if you’re a true Vampire & Gothic connoisseur there are obvious red flags with this game even despite the lackluster feeding animations, but if you’re willing to overlook this there is enough customization via most base game settings & via third party plugin integrations (you should check out the V Rising modding community discord if you have not done so already).
